  1. Did notice this evening that the gps nav map showed my on screen moniker pointing/traveling southwardly (down towards floor) in orientation, yet the compass on screen indicated I was traveling northbound (which I was). The orientation of the nav screen therefore seemed flipped is what I am trying to communicate. When coming to an anticipated route turn, wherein I should have been turning right, the screen was saying I should be turning left to my desitination. Thinking of going back the same route to see if this happens again while mapping this particular destination. Anyone else experience this phenomina with the NAV?
  2. How odd. I'd try this out in mine to see if I find the same problem (wondering if perhaps your ears are popping), but damned if I'm allowing my pooch to ride (shed) in my 330. Do hope, for both our sakes, that its an ear/cabin pressure thing, not any sort of mechanical/electrical issue. 300gone330
  3. Picked up my 330 today. Has Navigation, Heavy Duty Alt, Radiator and Trans cooler, 18" aluminum wheels, Heated front seats, Rain Sensing wipers, Headlamp washers, Rear Back-up camera, Leather, Power tilt/tele steering wheel with memory, Power rear hatch, HID's, Roof rails/rack, Wood package, Illuminated entry (to include door jam insigna...is this standard?), Auto retracting tonneau cover, cargo mat and wheel locks, all wheel drive, in Neptune Blue Mica with Ivory int. Took back the FX rental today...it was fun, but some 2K later, it was time to see it go back to Enterprise. Honestly, the only thing I can say I miss about it was the horsepower v. the Lexus. Hands down, the Lexus is superior in comfort of ride and interior polish/sophistication.
  4. car is not far behind...I hope. :D
  5. I have been driving a brand new 3,000 mile FX 35 for over a month now (rental while I wait for the 330 to be built/delivered.) I concur the handling and hp is "most excellent"; however, to compare the 330 and the FX35 is apples and oranges. The FX's tranmission/rear combo cant quite handle the hp (SLOW shifting, hangs between gears etc, and is MUCH worse in the snow/slush and ice than a RX....this I know, drove both in 4 inch slushy conditions.) The rear window visibility is very poor in comparison to the RX, and the cargo area is not as long nor convenient. That said, I will readily admit I do enjoy driving the FX every day to and from work. Simply put, its a bachelor's ride with guts and JUST enough creature comforts to keep me renting it til the end of Feb when my RX is ready (hopefully). I think I like it because it reminds me of a Maxima/what a Maxima SUV would be like (in suspension/handling/pick up) and its pep akin to an old 318 Charger I used to have. I do wish Lexus would have upped the hp in the RX a bit, but again, its made to be smooth, cater to a family (if need be) not tear up the roadways.
  6. I live down by Delaware (southern NJ...can see Wilmington, Delaware skyline from one side of my house and Philadelphia from the other), and have no qualms making the long drive into NYC....if I can make a weekend of it, as it is quite a distance for a one day rounder. Offer still stands, should there be any like-minded Lexus owners also want to enjoy the other fine things available just a stone throw over the bridge in compliment to their autos (cigars, top shelf liquors/fine wines, leather/burl/mahogany surroundings, theater etc.) If not, I am just going to have to join a Corolla club or something (LOL) P.S. I get parking at $22 a day on 44th. Your rates/finds may vary. Regards, 300gone330
  7. BB...as long as you didn't go to the "Wing Bowl" your alright with me. LOL
  8. BB...what's too far from Philly? (PS, your and my "tri-state" definitions align)
  9. NY sounds good...folks could make a weekend of it/catch some matinees etc...hit Balducci's. I'll certainly book my accomodations as soon as this is concreted. Idea: I could price out a meeting room, lounge/library or banquet facilities should the Lexus club wish to have a small reception (or all the way up to a black tie sit down affair) at a club we belong to on West 44th Street in the city. That is, if folks are interested and, true to Lexus form, would appreciate upper crust surroundings/amenities. Just a thought seeing as Brooklyn is right across the bridge. 300gone330
  10. I've had State Farm Insurance for at least 15 years, and have put in NUMEROUS claims for vandalism (car keyed, spray painted, cracked windshield and even a rocks flying up from an 18 wheeler which tore up a tire and dented the hood and trunk of a rental car I was driving) and most recently for my totaled Lexus RX 300 (of course not our fault, driver underinsured/her insurance co running away from paying out) and have yet to see my rates go up for same. Believe me when I say I am NO fan of car insurance let alone State Farm; especially seeing as I live in NJ perhaps the worst state for car insurance and regs, but I personally have not had the experience with State Farm to which you elude. (Crossing my fingers I just didnt jinx myself....lol) Note: I was advised by my rep; however, that your rates will go up if your found to be 51% or more at fault relative to a claim. Point is moot I suppose, seeing as State Farm is going to drop all of us in NJ shortly. 300gone330
  11. What is the screen made of anyway (have yet to get mine and the only sample test cars I drove were non-nav cars)? Is it like that of my old 300? Also, is it a touch screen? Wondering if camera lens/filter cleaner/cleaning sheets would do the trick on keeping the screen clean and unscratched?
  12. Think someone here already hit it on the head...the Levinson Nav bundle is something the dealers push. You CAN bi-pass the Mark Lev and get just the Nav package (which is what I did). As for huge difference in sound...well, that is up to the tastes, education and needs of the listener. I would simply leave everyone to ponder this: Would YoYo Ma be any less accomplished a musican on a Bose vs a Nachamici system etc...perhaps, just perhaps, it all depends on the music one listens to to begin with...?
  13. We could start a whole new meaning of the "drive-in" with parking and playing movies. Guess one could always carry a flick just in case of traffic jam...? LOL
  14. Can anyone fill me in on integrated phone options for the 330 (factory and aftermarket)? I ask as NJ has JUST this week passed into law a ban on hand held cell phones while driving, so I am looking to see what options I may have to allow for handsfree conversation when needed. Thanks! 300gone330
  15. This happened in both my 96 Maxima and my 2000 RX 300 (although to a much lesser degree than in the Maxima). Perhaps use of a small hand towel/or a small seat pad to protect seats from those oh so new/dark blue jeans etc. could be an answer. Does Lexus offer professionally applied leather protection? Even if they did, often times the problem with sprays/protective rubs are that they darken the leather. I did find an EXCELLENT leather cleaner (took dried on ball point ink COMPLETELY off without discoloration) which I got from Macy's with my leather sectional sofa called "Worry No More" by Leather master. I have not; however, tried same in the car (getting rid of the Max and I am not going to waste this liquid gold on a car I am trading in.) I am sure there are many good products out there, but many contain wax as a primary ingredient, which of course builds up over time...and if applied too heavily, comes off on ones clothing.
  16. I got an extended warranty on my used as well as my new (to be built) Lexus'. I however, went through my credit union which refunds my $1500 if I fail to put in any claims. So its in supplement to Lexus, picking up anything they dont, and going beyond the Lexus warranty. I hope I wont need it, but one never knows (considering these puppies are being build in Canada now.) I would certainly suggest an extended warranty on any USED vehicle, especially remembering a time when I suffered a jammed sun roof (on a Maxima) which ran $1,200 in repairs (boy was I glad I had a warranty at that time in my life...college student, etc.)...and its not like I could have rode around with an open sun roof. If your otherwise financially sound, and could weather a large repair bill should it happen, then skip it. 300gone330
  17. Navigation with back up camera, premium plus package, Wood trim (incl steering wheel and shift knob), power rear hatch, roof rack/rails, 18 inch wheels, AWD, HID head lamps, leather, in Neptune Blue Mica/Ivory interior. Believe thats it. :D
  18. Sure wish that they had offered the lovely garnet color of Steve's car on the RX 330...was admiring it in the showroom (guess they wont offer it til 2006 or so, in an attempt to get us to trade in/upgrade.) 300gone330
  19. Muchas gracias! Was wondering how that worked (only new car I ever bought was already built and on dealer lot, thus had a VIN of course.) :)
  20. Why are northeasters being screwed by Lexus dealers in v. Cali prices? Arent emission standards more restrictive there/thus more equipment to control same? Frankly its f'ed up that we all pay 4-6k more for the same car as our west coast counter parts. Any one? 300gone330
  21. Should I expect a VIN # on my sales contract when the vehicle has yet to be built? Should I demand this/at what stage is a VIN assigned for a car in build process? Thanks Gang! 300gone330
  22. I too bought my 2000 RX 300 used (apx 40,000 miles) for $23,100 (via my credit union lease turn in lot). It was the best car (post 1990*) that I ever owned. It was one owner corporate owned, thus never saw a car seat and the lighter had NEVER been used, so super clean. Very SMOOTH ride too (I actually liked it better than the new 330 I just test drove and ordered.) You will love the car as did I (just got totalled a couple of weeks ago...so, I can say it does what needs to be done l in a 60mph crash with an Impala.) Enjoy it! Regards. 300gone330 *Have to give props to my 1990 Nissan Maxima, my other best car buy. Got 240,000 miles out of her before yet another idiot :chairshot: ran into on coming traffic.
  23. Insurance company is trying to short my payoff on my recently totalled 2000 RX 300 by $155 and $125 for not having the Limited package and Premium packages. Does anyone know, with certainty, what these are in order that I may assess if I in fact had any of the above (bought my 300 used, so am not familiar with the packages as I did not pick them out persay)? Thanks! 300gone330
  24. JUST ordered my 330 today. My 2000 RX 300 was totaled by an 80+ year old granny who ran a red at 60mph. It did what it was supposed to do (fold), but boy do I miss it, it really was super smooth. Anyway, as I wipe a tear, ordered a Neptune Blue Mica, with Ivory leather, "C" package LESS the Mark Levinson sound system that is (has Navigation, wood trim, etc)....dont panic, doing Tweeter for sound and entertainment system v. Lexus. Hey, has anyone here used Tweeter? Fellow shoppers, did we all duly notice that these puppies cannot be found anywhere to buy right off the lot? What the heck is up with that ? And, I noticed that they were only being made in Canada as well (I SURE hope and pray this is as sound as my old 2000 RX300 which hailed from assembly in Japan.) :( Got a price of $41,491, which hopefully isnt too bad (my own credit union couldn't beat the price I got on my own, but did beat the Lexus financing, so not a total loss.) Went to three states to price out, and apparently, this is the best I could do in the NJ/PA/DE areas. All you 330'ers, please let me know how you like your utes. Regards!
