  1. I have 2002 Es300 and navigation stop working. The DVD disk in the back did not move. So i go to a long process of finding what is the problem. CPU was the problem and cost me to repair $600. I decided to go with ebay and buy for $450. 2002 have Navteq generation 1 or 2, and I changed with generation 4. Bought disk for it and work. Update is only done with a new disk for the same generation. Good luck. Martin
  2. Hi I own 2002 Lexus ES300 all loaded. Nav Denso, Mark Levingston sound, raindrop sensor, rear shade. I bought This car at mainhaim auto action. I like it but was more my friend decision. I was looking for Mercedes C320 2002. So finally before I realize i own a Lexus. Another japanise car. I need european car. I am from Europe and we belive there is one car: Mercedes. Next Monining I woke up and there is that Black Garnet Purl Lexus stay up front. I still feel that this is little bit bigger car and need some more air-body adjustments. But when you get inside whoo... so nice: bright white gages meter, Xenon HID light. Whell for 72k spent 14k was not bad. Insurance is kind a high $1600 a year. But the good thing is that people, talking about this car. There was this guy stop me in front of the caffeteria and tel me his store of previous owner that go to Cadillac and want to came back to Lex...... It is nice ride do not get me wrong but there was too small things I want to share. First I have rust in the engine. They say it is normal if you driving the car in the city. Local Sparks Toyota clean something and now i fell that ingectors they clean not done right. The second I can tall you stories about was my experince with lexus famouse ECM. Computer control transmission. SO they did update but drive bad... Well the Toyota say that it will learn my draving habits. Come on they not that bad....The cars change 2-3-4 gear about 3000 and 4000 RPM. Brought it to Hedrick Lexus in Charlotte. I like this guys. So they say it is fine. Ok I found that if you disconnect the Negative side of you battery for 5 min will reset the memory and you start again to "learn" you style. Now it is OK. Finally this is good car. Drives good it no need to be adjust. Just let it drive.....It will probably last you long time. PS If some one have any Ideas how can mod some....Ideas are welcome. I saw in Europe Lexus tunning by Carlsson. Unbelivable...

  4. Hi everybody, I am owner of es300 and one of my college bump the back of the 2002 Lexus. You could see the paint crack and start coming out. I toke the car to Hedrix lexus, Charlotte and tehy told me that is been repair before and could not be this time. I have to put a new bumper. In the future will be visible if some one else repaired. Please, I need you oppinion. This will cost me a $1000. Thnx. Martin
  5. Hi, Very good question.Let me tel you my story. I brough my Lexus 2002 es300 to a local Toyota dealer since we do not have a Lexus close. They told me that have to calibrate the transmission. Big mistake. The transmission is ECT, computer controlled and it is take about 200-300 miles to get adjust to you driving habits. But when they calibrated now car working horable. to high RPMs, the transsmision switching gears even when iam drivng 40-50 miles lower the gear. Feels like when you riding a horse it trips and going to fell off. I do little resarch and comes to conlcusion that it is matter when they pre-program the computer what mode they will do: eco, power and sport. " ECT-i (Electronically Controlled Transmission with Intelligence) The Lexus ECT-i transmission system automatically shifts gear in response to vehicle speed and acceleration, and even adjusts to match your driving style. With ECT-i you no longer need to shift gears constantly, easing the stress of stop-start traffic in the city and on winding country roads. On Lexus ECT-i the gears are controlled by a torque converter that replaces the clutch. It simultaneously connects and disconnects the engine from the drive wheels whilst selecting the appropriate gears to match the speed of the car. ECT-i is even capable of learning from and adjusting to different driving styles. " So may be this guys do not know how to do it becouse the lexus guy was very supprise that they can doing here in Sparks Toyota Myrtle Beach,SC. May be this time wehen the computer learn you driving style i did something wrong, but iam very unhappy. Martin
  6. Hi I have the same 2002 Lexus ES300 with navigation. Question. How is you trans shifting?
  7. Hi guys I really need you help. I have Lexus Es300 2002 and i recently brought the car to Toyota dealer, we do not have a Lexus close. This guys do a transmission calibration and top of the engine cleaning, as injectors and valves. I toke the car and work terrible. I am driving as 20 miles and speed up to 30 and the RPMs go 3200, then to 40 miles i reach 4200 rpms, then the transmission shift and the rpms going to 2000. To drive above 60 miles i have to rich 5000 rpm to shift. I still has a rust when open the oil cap. I do not know if this is ok or i shoild take the car to Lexus Hendricks in Charlotte, NC about 3-4 hours. Please, I need you comments. Thanks. Martin
