  1. There's a recall for 07 and 08 models with the all weather mats, I wonder if this car had the all weather mats: Campaign Number: 07E082000 Number of Vehicles Affected: 55,000 Model Years Affected: 2007 Date Owner Notified: 10/2007 Defect Summary: CERTAIN ALL WEATHER FLOOR MATS (AWFM) SPECIFICALLY SOLD AS AN OPTIONAL ACCESSORY FOR USE ON THE 2007 AND 2008 MODEL YEAR LEXUS ES350 AND TOYOTA CAMRY VEHICLES. THE AWFM INCLUDES TWO GROMMET HOLES AND RETAINING HOOKS (CLIPS) TO SECURE THE MAT TO THE VEHICLE'S CARPET. IF THE AWFM IS NOT SECURED BY ITSELF OR IF IT IS PLACED ON TOP OF AN EXISTING CARPETING FLOOR MAT, THE MAT COULD MOVE FORWARD DURING THE VEHICLE USAGE AND IT MAY INTERFERE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. Consequence Summary: THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL MAY TEMPORARILY BECOME STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION WHEN RETURNING TO THE IDLE POSITION. IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, IT MAY INCREASE THE POSSIBILITY OF A CRASH. Corrective Summary: TOYOTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS OF ALL 2007 AND 2008 LEXUS ES350 AND TOYOTA CAMRY VEHICLES ABOUT THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH NOT ALL OF THESE OWNERS WILL HAVE PURCHASED THE ALL WEATHER MATS. IF THE OWNER HAD NOT PURCHASED THE MATS, THEY ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. THIS LETTER WILL ADVISE OWNERS WHEN REPLACEMENT MATS WILL BE AVAILABLE OR HOW TO RETURN THE ALL WEATHER FLOOR MAT SET TO OBTAIN A REFUND. A SECOND LETTER WILL BE SENT AFTER MATS ARE AVAILABLE REQUESTING OWNERS TO RETURN THEIR MATS TO A LEXUS OR TOYOTA DEALER FOR EXCHANGE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE MAT. THE FIRST LETTER IS EXPECTED TO BE SENT DURING EARLY OCTOBER 2007 AND THE SECOND IN LATE NOVEMBER 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT THE LEXUS CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-255-3987 OR THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER AT 1-888-270-9371.
  2. When I leased my 07 ES350 I searched high and low for the Ultra Luxury package, they were extremely rare. I was lucky enough to find a Tungsten Pearl one after several months of trying. It'll be off lease in another 10 months if you're still looking.
  3. The only complaint I have with my ES 350 is the poor interior lighting and it's controlability. I have the opposite problem you do....I can't get the damn things to come on when I open the door.
  4. There's not much you can do to that system unless you're going to replace the speakers and add a good quality sub. The Mark Levinson system is very well balanced and offers great performance. I'm glad I went with the ML.
  5. The caller ID works with my blackberry and Verizon service.
  6. As long as the phone has blue tooth capability it will work fine. I have three phones programmed into my 07 ES. A blackberry, a Krazr, and a chocolate. No problems switching between them either.
  7. OK, it's off...the trip A setting worked. I almost forgot what the dash looked like without that light on.....it's been almost 6 months Thank you all!
  8. Well, I tried this several times last night and the light didn't go out. I tried while starting the car, I tired while in ACC mode, I tried with the ODO knob and with the button on the wheel. No luck. I'm just going to disconnect the battery this weekend.
  9. Thank you, I will give it a try! BTW, is that the button on the steering wheel or the knob that resets the trip odometer?
  10. I did, it said that the light would go off when I reset the oil change data or disabled the maintenance schedule. I did both and the light remains on. I'm going to disconnect the battery this weekend and see what happens.
  11. There are no Lexus techs out there that can help me with this? I guess I'll try disconnecting the battery and see if that helps.
  12. The 3000 mile oil change is a myth, there's no reason to change oil that often. Under normal circumstances I routinely go 7500 miles on non synthetic oil in my Lincoln. My 07 Lexus ES350 gets changed about 5-7K miles. I don't think they use synthetic in it though. I know the place charges me an extra $13 for the filter.
  13. Unless of course they're sold as certified pre owned.
  14. Those prices are insane...that's why I leased, I can just turn it in after the lease is over and walk away. Those scheduled maintenance visits will run in the several thousands of dollars over the years.....that's crazy. I bought a 1991 Z-24 new and said to myself I'm just going to replace what's broken, change oil and air filter. I ran that car 8 years and over 275,000 miles without a problem. Since then I have never wasted money on dealer service.....a well made vehicle doesn't need it. I ran a 2000 Chrysler 8 years with over 180,000 miles without a problem. That car even had the original battery and original headlight bulbs when I sold it.
  15. I leased an 07 ES350 with the Ultra Luxury package back in August of 07. White with Cashmere interior. It was a 3 year lease....I should have only gone with 2 years because I get tired of cars fast. Anyone wanna assume the lease? lol This ES350 is the best car I have owned....by far, and I've owned alot of cars over the years.
  16. I started using the maintenance system on the navigatyion screen and got the change oil indicator as expected. When I reset the data info for the next change the light did not go out. Am I missing something here? I have since turned off the maintenance schedule and the light still stays on. How do I turn this darn thing off....it's rather annoying to see it everytime the car is on. Thanks
  17. I had the same issue with my 07 ES350 and reset the system using that button. There are two buttons under there. The one on the right turns off the ABS and the one on the left resets the TPM. I held the button in and the warning light blinked three times and then went out. I then released the button, turned the car off and then restarted it and the light stayed off.
  18. Mine is attached right over those black dots.
  19. I was quoted $450 for the side molding from the dealer, I declined. I run my 350 on 87 octane with absolutely no problems...it's a lease :D
  20. My ES350 (2007) is at the dealer now having Sirius installed (again). Be aware that, according to the assistant service manager, the installation instructions call for the antenna to be placed INSIDE the vehicle, either on the windshield or rear window. This is in direct contradiction to Sirius' instructions. Initially, my antenna was placed next to the rear view mirror and, as a result, I kept losing the signal. The dealer is now trying to relocate the antenna on the outside of the car. Has anyone had similar issues? My ES 350 has XM installed. Because of the panorama roof of the ultra luxury I needed a different antenna. The dealer placed it on the right corner of the trunk right where it meets the rear window. It is less than 1 inch square and works well. I'd rather have the body colored roof mounted one but that's just not possible with the glass roof. It works well and doesn't look to bad.
  21. Found a great site for all makes of autos....www.lkqcorp.com They have facilities all over the country.
  22. I just leased an 07 ES 350 Ultra Luxury with Mark Levinson, XM radio, and PArking Assist. The sticker was a shade over $45,000. The lease was based on a "purchase price" of $40,600, which was about $800 over invoice. Best deal I could do considering the Ultra Luxury cars are very hard to find.
  23. Can anyone point in the direction of a discount online parts site for Lexus parts? The center console armrest of my one month old ES 350 has a big ink smudge on it. I tried leather cleaner and alcohol. It lightened up a bit but the alcohol left a brownish spot around the heaviest ink area. Most of the ink is gone but it is still noticeable. I know I will get charged at the end of the lease but more so I am anal and can't stand this blemish. The lexus dealer has one for $325. I have the ultra luxury package with the semi aniline leather (which I am guessing wasn't used on the console) in cashmere. Would I be better off just getting an upholstery shop to recover it and try and match the leather, or re-dye what is there?
