  1. I think I know what the problem is......

    My IS350 is the quietest car I have ever ridden in so I think any sort of noise not noticable in a cheaper car can be heard. My IS350 is almost a year old and at times I can hear tiny rattles here and there if the radio is off but can never tell where they come from. I never heard any creak or rattle in my Nissan 350Z but if I think of it, that car was so crude and loud i'm sure there were noises but I could never hear over the engine, exhaust or tires.

    So, Lexus is redefining the meaning of luxury! In my experience, only eastern europe cars have these noises now I add Lexus to the list.

  2. Yeah they are out to get you, what with the sliding vanity mirror cover and the automatic light in the headliner that comes on when you open the little door, plus the secure holder where the visor won't be flopping down when the car is 4 years old, not to mention the acoustical material to enhance your stereo listening experience. Cheap bastiges!!111!

    And because they added those stuff they think that they've to save a buck or half. You see, I am trying to find a good execuse for them ;) .

  3. I agree. If it were smoother trying to maintain the set speed you would have a higher lag time before the odometer gets to where you want it to be.

    =====================

    I am pretty sure it'll spin on icy hilly roads if the cruise is on. Since you're in Canada, did you ever use the CC in winter?

    I still believe it accelertes way too much, the weight of the car is part of the equation which tends to drag the car down and backward that's why it tries to compensate by letting too much gas in.

  4. Did anyone notice the reaction of the cruise control on hilly roads is too much to the degree I call it "jumpy" this even is not as smooth as a cruise control of a 1990 car. I hope I am the only one who experienced that and then I'll take my baby to the dealership before the warranty expires.

    Thanks.

  5. The OP was that the headlights were pointing too low. It doesn't matter whether adaptive or not, they can be adjusted to the proper level on the vertical axis.

    As for turning, I know a person who travels on a road with lots of tight turns and switchbacks. She complained that the lights often pointed off in the trees because of the tight turns. I told her how to turn the feature off and she was happy with that.

    Bartkat, do you know any rationale that makes Lexus set it in the way it's aiming so short?

    If I have to turn it off to have a better view of the road ahead then IT'S USELESS.

  6. AFS is useless, JMHO. I did not benefit from it. It rather harmed me, in Feb 06 I almost had a crash because this headlight that does not shed farther than 50 feet. I went to the service manager with this issue. They checked it and said" we calibrated it and it's fine". I shut up. Six months later the same service manager told me he drove another IS at night and he noticed the same problem. He added they can not do anything, this is the way it was meant to function.

  7. I don't think they should call it a "recall" because it's not Toyota's fault for the ethanol fuel messing up their fuel systems. Ethanol fuel has recently been shown to clog up and destroy lawn mower type engines. I think whoever still has been putting ethanol fuel in their car or truck will get what is coming. They tried to make this new fuel work with existing engines which was a bad idea. This new ethanol fuel has only been around for a few years and look at all the problems already. I promise there will be more automakers that will start seeing problems with engines and fuel systems related to the use of ethanol fuel. Just wait.

    Brazil has been using 100% Etahnol fuel for years. Other vehicles including Toyota use the same gasoline; why only Lexus has this problem?
