I would not recommend chrome for any Lexus. As a girl, it just comes off as "pimp my ride" or a gold medallion in deep chest hair...
...eeeewe! Tint your windows with chrome tint if you do get them though, it will complete the image you want to project IMO.
Until I see chrome wheels as the standard on formula one or nascar race cars, alloy will still be the coolest thing to see on a hot car ;) .
ya ok...a nice chrome wheel makes the paint shine even more, i dont like the dull finish of a alloy wheel

Thanks for the reply Python. I'll check the VAC lines. Wouldn't an EGR issue throw a code? If not, what are some way's to diagnose the EGR valve and whatever else could be causing these issues. I do not have the factory repair manuals. I've also heard about cleaning out a filter/screen on the steering rack, where is that? The power steering seems to work okay at times then out of no where will get really hard to turn. Sounds like it could be something to do with the control valve on the PS pump if it modulates the power of the pump somehow. I'm not sure how this particular system works.
no codes its not the egr system...the valve on the pump regulates how the steering works at lower rpms

i would check for a vacuum leak, egr system, valve on the ps pump

Wow, This is crazzy because I have the same issue with my 94 lexus ls 400 , The mechanic told me that it could be the timming belt skipping, but I dont think so. if you have any luck please let me know thanks

what type of bulbs do I need for my 93? are they 9003?
yes they are...bulbs tend to last around 300 hours
-
using leather conditioner does nothing because it doesnt soak into the seat....u might as well use vinyl cleaner
-
i am going on vacation to washington state soon, i live in california so during my trip i will be going through the mountains....right now my low and high beams are one bulb(9003), i have inner bulbs that dont come on, they are in fact fog lights on the 90-91's,but on my 92 they are useless as they never turn on, im going to have my lights fixed so i can turn the inner lights on, i will be able to use them during my trip and will aid my high beams going through the dark mountain range...i already have my new stereo in which plays dvd's and i have 7.1 surround sound in my car...4 door speakers (5.25 inch jl audio),jl audio 2 way 6x9's in the rear deck and a 12 inch kicker sub in the trunk, so my girl will be watching movies as we go

rotflmfao!!!!!!! there isnt a cabin filter for a 91....i would be very upset at whoever quoted u that price, in fact i would let them do the job,pay them and get the invoice and call the BAR

i just had a KLASSE representative come to my work and give me a huge pamphlet on this very subject

fram spends all their money on advertising, napa filters are made by wix and are THEEE best filters on the market...bar none,if u have any doubts then google it
oem filters are nothing but reboxed filters, if u use fram oil filters on ur car u better change it every 3,000 miles or sooner cuz they come upart on the inside....your oil filter only starts to filter your oil when the car is at idle,as soon as the pressure rises then the bypass valve kicks in...just thought u may want to know this

the only leather that is not coated with a plastic type protective covering in european leather, ur wasting ur time using any leather cleaners
-
O2 SENSORS! and make sure u use denso ,i had 2 bosch go out on me
-
those caps that are on the bottom of the injectors do not seal anything, in fact u can use injectors out of a sc 400 which are a little different design at the bottom and dont even have those caps on them, they put out a little more fuel but ur ecm will adjust for that in a few days
i thought this problem was fixed? did ur cel come back on? code 52? if so then like i told u earlier u r going to have to replace the kock sensors as well as the connectors

i have sylvania's in my eagle eyes and they are great, we sell the phillips at work and i have them in my camry and they are equally as good...either way u cant go wrong
Anyone Know How To Change The Starter In A 91 Ls?
in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
Posted
ur right this car isnt a porsche, do u have any idea how many engineers they had working on this car? more than they had on the infamous ZERO which was an icon in WW2(although the united states built the mustang which owned that plane and the ford car is named after it), this car started development in 1983 and they spent over 1 billion dollars in 5 years and has won the jd powers and assoc. award for the most reliable car on the planet for 15 years straight...theres nothing about the motors or tranny's in our cars that are stupid, also the reason they put the starter there is because its away from the heat of the exhaust...how long did ur starter last? mine lasted 13 years and 130,000 miles
