  1. Yea, it turns out the battery did die. Not sure yet how I managed to do that. Gave it a jump and now all is well. Damn I missed driving it yesterday. :-)
  2. Living up here in Buffalo, the IS 250 was an easy choice. I know I'm gonna need that AWD come wintertime! That being said, and all other things being equal, I still don't know if I'd get the IS 350. My driving habits wouldn't justify spending the extra few thousand dollars (yes, I CAN afford it) for the extra power. I would probably never race anyone, and almost certainly wouldn't drive at breakneck speeds. The IS 250 has plenty of power for my needs, and certainly doesn't feel like a "slow" car by any means. And it's still a very fun car to drive. I bought my IS 250 for the combination of quality, styling and luxury. Based on those three factors, there is essentially no difference between the IS 250 and IS 350. Hey, your driving habits may be different and the IS 350 may suit you better. But please don't dis us IS 250 owners. We all have reasons for purchasing the vehicles that we do. There are many more IS 250s out there than IS 350s - not everyone wants the IS 350. For some owners it may be the money, but for others there may be other factors involved in their decision. And there's certainly nothing wrong with those new car buyers who choose to buy a Camry either (it's an excellent vehicle, just not my style). In fact, some of the most well-off people I know do not even own a luxury car - they feel it's too pretentious. Different strokes for different folks... Very well said jetman, my exact thoughts. :-) So you saved me recycling some electrons!
  3. Thanks guys. IS350 do you have any personal experience dealing with anyone of them (or know somone)? I am looking for some shop which has done tinting on IS250/350. Also what type of tint you did? Thanks again.
  4. You maybe onto something. That is quite possible I may have left it in ACC mode. But I do remember pressing the Lock button on remote. Doesn't that shut down the car completely?
  5. This morning when I tried to put some stuff in trunk I noticed the trunk was not opening. I was holding down the trunk open key on the remote. Still no go. Got suspicious and tried to open driver side door. It opened, without beep. hmmm... I pushed the trunk release button and still no pop. Tried start button, nothing came on. So I guess the battery died overnight for some reason. I am trying to understand what can cause the battery to die. I was fiddling with my phone last night and may have left the interior lights on. But from the owner's manual, I see that the interior lights if left on will go off after 20 mins to save the battery. I am sure headlights turn off after 30seconds. So what other things may cause it? Thanks Mir
  6. I am thinking of getting my 250 tinted. Where do you guys tint your car and how much did it cost? I am clueless in terms of what to get. Also if you are in bay area where did you get it done? I am hesitant to take it to just any place around the corner. Thanks
  7. I am not sure if this is a problem or not. I hear my one week old IS 250 making noise while idling. All engines make noise. But this is a bit loud and I can hear it 15-20 feet away. I will be taking mine to dealer soon so I will ask them then about. Meanwhile, anyone has any comments? I understand the description is rather vague but other than recording the sound not sure how to relay it. Thanks
  8. I have not had it in my IS 250 yet but I do have it in my older Xterra and New Beetle. This happens if I use the AC for some time and then turn it off. When AC is running I do not get this. Is it same with you?
  9. Have you tried to calculate the mileage manually? Multi purpose display on my IS250 never shows over 22mpg avg. I drive mostly in city with little highway. I was expecting it be on the 24+ on avg. Anyway, once this initial tank of gas runs out, I am planning to measure the mpg manually ( distance driven/gallons purchased).
  10. Hi everyone, just got an IS 250 last Thursday. So far we are loving the car. But trying to pair up my Treo 650 or my wife's razr have been unsuccessful. Can anyone lend a helping hand? I have searched this forum and lexus talk and got some helpful hints, but still no go. For treo, when I try to setup new device, it detects "hands free" in lexus find and goes through the process of asking for pass key. It verifies that the key is correct. But lexus never connects to it. On the razr it is even weirder, it discovers "hands free" but when trying to connect never asks for a pass key and lexus never recognizes the phone. It would be nice to get Treo working, but atleast razr should work pretty much out of the box right? Since it is an approved phone. Thanks! Mir
  11. Could be the sound of engine cooling off? Since you said after turning off the engine, I would suspect that. Was it coming from front under the hood? I have seen/heard things like that on other cars (not in my IS 250 yet)
