Thanks. Actually the wood matches my doors and center sides. They had to put it on to cleanly cover the cut. Ideally though Id like to have a beige leather trim that matches my dash. It has to be sized exact though. It took them 3 hours to cut, size and fit the wood one. If anyone has suggestions, Im open to it. Sypher, about the hood, Im not sure how to help you there. Maybe you're thinking of another member.

Below is a pic of my passenger dash monitor just installed by DC Works here in So. Cal. I know theres some who will think you shouldnt cut into the dash but I like the unconventional. Its not a lease so what the heck, seem like everybodys got the same thing so here's something different. The air bag, and the A/C vents were completely unaffected. I've noticed over the past few months the national tv Lexus ads ("december to remember, etc.) have featured every single model and sport utility except for the GS300,400. WIth the next model not til 06 are they completely ignoring our model til then. Does anyone think there will be any changes at all to the 05 model?

Are we sure this is an o6 model?? It was common knowledge that lexus would replace the GS in 05. Thats fine with me though, my car will look new for another year. The only reference to the year on the lexus web-site seemed to be this part of the press release: A rear back-up camera is also added for 2006, providing an extra margin of confidence when reversing the vehicle. Available in conjunction with the optional navigation system, it automatically projects an image of what the camera lens can detect behind the vehicle onto the navigation screen when the vehicle is in the reverse gear.

I have 18" with 245/40 tires. Did you notice a harsher ride when lowered? SpeedyGS, do you have a pic?

Im looking into the eibach pro-kit (1" drop) and the l-tuned springs (1.2" & .9" drop). I know eibach makes the l-tuned springs but is one better than the other? I can get the eibachs for 200 where as the l-tuned are 297. Is it better to get the l-tuned or are the eibachs as good, but cheaper. Just wondered if anybody knew anything about this, thanks.

Does anyone know where I can get a chrome emblem for the steering wheel like the ones on the 01-04 gs300??? The dealership told me Id have to order the airbag w/it for $700. Too much. Just want to secure an emblem on there.

Definiteley your opinion LuckenGS. I happen to think it looks Bleept*y w/out the badges, thats just my opinion. Heres a pic, I think the gold looks much better than the silver on white and black GS'. 99.9% of the cars out there have badges on it, so I know im not alone. It just makes no sense unless you're embarassed to let people know you have a Lexus or you live in a neighborhood were people steal them. If I saw a car without badges, Id assume they were stolen and the owner hasnt bothered to replace them yet.

I dont understand why people want to de-badge their cars. Maybe a Honda, but a Lexus?? Is there something unattractive about the lexus name and logo being on your car? Gold emblems look good on white. I like it, lets the clueless people know what I drive.

I would want the new style headlight covers (2001-04) with the greenish tint.

Less than most charge, however ebay has them for $275 plus $50 shipping(so about the same). The sellers from Japan. I dont know how reliable he is, but he has a good feedback rating. Thats how I got mine and they look new. It takes a lot of calling around though.

I have 18" wheels w 245/40 tires and am getting the eibach springs for my gs300 because I dont like the large gap. Ive never got springs or shocks for a car and wondered if anyone knew the differences between Bilstein(german) and L-tuned shocks. How do they compare in performance and price? Also when you get new prings why is it neccessary to change the shocks? Any info is helpful, as well as the best places to buy these, Thanks!

So as I understand it, all I really need is the headlight cover. Is it really neccesary to remove the bumper to install this?? Supraboy80, attached is the pic you requested. The top one is pre 98-2000 (mine), bottom 2001-04. Personally I like the new ones but Id like to know what other people think.

I do have HID's. Do I need new bulbs too?

I did a search and couldn't find any topics on this. Has anyone updated they're gs300/400 to the 01-04 headlight housing w/ the greenish tint? Does anyone know why Lexus changed it from the smoked? Finally, how easy is it to change this part and how much should I expect to pay (in other words is it worth the hassle to make it look newer)?

I called around some junk yards and found a pair for $200 and they look like new. It was easy to change, just plug in the new one.

Hey, I just got my 2000 GS300 and I love it. Only problem is it was missing the factory sub. The rest of the system is Nakamichi. I got a Cerwin Vega free-air subwoofer (stealth 3) 10". 44-400 watts and 4 ohms. Does anyone know if the factory nakamichi amp will power this w the same quality as the factory sub? Thanks

Auto zone in california no longer does the computer diagnostic to retrieve codes. They're being sued by Pep Boys who charges for the service and thinks auto zone should not be able to offer it free. I say boycott Pep Boys

I just put 245/40 18" wheels with sumitomo tires. I chose that size because its the same as the european sport edition. There's still a gap though so Ill end up getting the eibach springs to lower it 1".
