I adore the Generation 2.5 ES300. I loved the Generation 2 when it was released, and when the style was updated in 2000, I just had to have one. *stares out the window at his ES300 in the parking lot* No, I'm not obsessed... really. :D

Does anyone know what items are checked/replaced at the 40,000 mile service on a 2000 ES300? Any estimate on cost? Is this just a gimmick to get me in to the dealership, or is it something I should have done?

I've got the same problem on my 2000. I ordered gummipfledge (sp) in hopes that it might solve this problem, as well as some slight wind noise. Is silicone spray or Tire Endurance a better solution, or just the same thing with a different name?

Cold Causing Brake Warning Light, Radio Display

I had the same experience with my brake light. Check the brake fluid level, and make sure it is topped off. If your fluid is low, even by a small amount, the light will display intermittently. -
I've got the same clunking noise coming from my front suspension (2000 ES300). Apparently there have been several Technical Service Bulletins issued regarding the bushings, etc. You can find them at www.alldata.com. I'm taking my car to the dealership Friday to have the problem looked at. Hopefully it will be covered under warranty. I'll post an update when I find out more.

My 2000 ES300 makes a popping/thumping noise (coming from the front of the car) when I go over any moderate bumps. I know I've read somewhere before that this year ES300 has issues with the strut mounts. Or maybe I'm dilusional. The search function doesn't seem to work, so could someone please explain to me what the problem is, what the symptoms are, and whether or not this would be covered under warranty. I would really appreciate it.
