Just wondering how important it is to replace the dust and pollen filter at a 16xxxkm service(10xxxmiles). It just seems a little to early for me, and I barely even use the climate controls, windows down as much as possible. The adviser says if not, windows will fog up more often...which is not really a concern for me. Also is it easy to replace my self???

From what it seems like, I am the only canuck on the board. From Ottawa, Ontario, and my dad owned Lexus' since 1996. First was an ES 300, then a 1998 GS 400. I've been working for the dealer doing Lexus Saturday customer washes since 2000 until present. Finished my school in 2006, got a job at PCL Constructors and decided to get my self a nice car, 2006 IS 250 mt. Loved Lexus since the day I began working for them and still do. Previous cars were Buicks, a 1991 Lesabre and a 1987 Park Avenue. Still have the PA and plan on using it as a winter car. Love working on the boats.

:chairshot: For the longest time I didnt know why they put ashtrays in such nice cars. As for a product, well if its just the color that has been affected then some goof off may take it out, dont use too much and clean it up with a clean damp rag after. Of course there is always the safer alternative of not smoking in your car and you'll never have to ever worry about this ever again, but what do I know, I'm only 22.

Most of the bulbs are plug and play, but for the center console, push start button, all the green lights on the dash needs to be custom installed... using soldering iron.... So that leaves the two dome lights that are plug and play... I guess that voids some warranty.

I like it, and am curious as to how much all that cost ya, PM me. Did you do the side mirror lights too?? I think those should definitely have been white LEDs from the start at the very least. I mean the plate at the back has em.

Not really. Maybe clay bar your car the day you pick it up and then wax it to seal it all before it starts. I'd assume the dealer could remove this if you bring it up to them soon after your delivery date. If you're not quick enough, they might say it comes from the high way and give you the run around. How many miles are on your car?

So what do people do when they want to go fast with a 6 speed tranny?

Could have had the trunk repainted and rebadged differently to signify something. I've seen some Lexus' come out of the shop with 300 RX quite a few times, or on the wrong side of the lid.

Got any pics? It is likely "rail Dust" Just go get some clay bar at Pep boys and it should come right out. Try to get the dealer to clay it for you, unless you want to do it your self. I've noticed this quite a bit on Lexus'.

I always wonder if the solution / water pressure is safe for the paint. I've been using the touch less car wash for a while myself but for a long run, is it good for the paint? The pressure seems really strong and the solution maybe quite harsh. I don't know... I was just wondering... Keeping a good coat of wax and sealant on the car should protect the paint. I'd much rather use the touchles than trust some yahoo with old diry rags and a dirty bucket of water to wash it. Mine's coming up on two years old and not a blemish on it. bartkat - I need to find just the right bolt, something thats short, really thick and self tapping. If its too long then it'll start to hit the bumper, thats why I didnt want to use nuts because they'd be hitting the bumper. uclaengr02 - I'm not afraid at all to drill into the bumper at all, working at the dealer for 7 years you get use to it and question why havent they come up with an alternative. I just really didnt want holes in the bumper. DArustik - Cop said, I pulled you over because I noticed you didnt have a front liscene plate. So I said, Correct, I am waiting for a special plate bracket to come in so dont have to drill holes into the bumper. He came back and said get it installed as soon as possible. No ticket or anything.

All I had were the white ones, blue red and yellow... But even with black ones, you'd be able to see them very easily on the plate cover.

I've finally been caught and decided to install the front plate without drilling into the bumper and it went like this. Zip ties are the next best thing since duct tape! Plate bracket was from a camry I think...dont quote me on that, just found it laying around the dealer. Drilled two holes in the bracket to accept the upper zip tie: Some electrical tape... didnt want to use a nut and bolt combo, hence the electrical tape to keep the zip ties from standing out: Profile shot, doesnt line up but it doesnt bother me, I could have stuffed something behind the bottom of the bracket to push it out, but I was alright with the way it is. Not bad. I know it doesnt look stock by any means, but its better than drilling into the bumper! I like it, also I can clip it off easily for some nice photo shoots!
