  1. I bought mine used '98 with 80K on it now (I drive like there is no tomorrow now!) Are you still within your bumper to bumper or do you know if this was an extended deal?
  2. Anything going on or anyone up for making something go on?
  3. Hey guys...just wondering if anyone else out there has had this happen. Two buttons have had the light "burn out" on them...the AM button and the FM1/FM2 button. Now I called Lexus and they said that the whole head unit has to be replaced just to make those lights come on for about $800 I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true or maybe another way that I can replace those lights...cuz it is annoying but not worth $800...
  4. Damn man...looks like we got 6 rides just between you, your friends, my roomie and myself...and it also sounds like mine is going to be the only stock one after the sc begins to customize...may have to undergo some face-lifting :) The Island...nice place. Make it over to Seattle often? Sounds like we have enough to at least start SOMETHING and get the word out... Anyone else out there????
  5. anewname-you couldn't be more right...keep in mind, @ the time I worked there they were all high-schoolers that did not take a job seriously. I would recomend a ase certified shop to anyone but that is just my opinion. I would say that your best judgement would be your own. How do you know when you pull up wether they are a bunch of high schoolers that don't take their job seriously that are being forced to knock cars out in 10min and how do we know that the guy under your hood is normally the one that vacumes and checks the tire pressure but they are short handed and he is "certified" cuz when he was hired they were short handed so he was given the answer key to take his "certification test"? Catch my drift? I am not trying to be sterio typical, I am not saying that ALL 10min oil changing places are like that....it's your car, take it to where YOU trust it. My whole point is, change your oil but you brought up another point I had to touch on...
  6. That is very nice...I am glad that the product works well for you. Personally, I feel that there is a difference in all oils, some it is just the package it comes in and others it is more importaint things such as how quickly it begins to break down and not do its job...lubricate. I think that pretty much the only thing that everyone will agree on would be the fact that the best thing you can do for yourself is CHANGE YOUR OIL ON A REGULAR BASIS. Now I am not saying that you have to us this or that brand or that this or that one sucks...but if are looking at the long road and if you are going to keep your car running strong...better to change your oil frequently than anything else. Yes, some oils are better than others...what is the best for you?...that is up to you. As far as the filter...I can't beleive that some try and save a buck or two by not changing it...if you have to change it with a fram...but Rush 48 is correct, more filteration is better...just make sure you re-start your car when the oil change is complete and then check the oil level & top off. If you are having it done anywhere, check the level before you leave, everyone makes mistakes...lets not let it be on your ride. (worked @ good ol' Q'Lube for 3 years and that shop alone replaced 8 engines...with hassel)
  7. Alright...anyone in WA interested in getting some meets together? My roommate and I both roll with the "L" badge on front, yet I guess we need reasurance that we are not the only ones that take pride in our ride or the only ones under 80 (no offence to anyone)...lets get something together wether it be shop day or just packing out some parking lot with our rides for and putting back a drink or two.
  8. Thanks man...I guess you could say that I am still learning about this site...I didn't see anything for WA but then again, I don't know if I am all that ready to show off my ride yet being that it is completely stock... Thanks again!
  9. I am going to have to see this in person in order to like I think....
  10. Hey guys, I was just throwing this out there. I also am a club member of Probetalk.com...Ford Probe that is (can we keep that whole ford thing on the dl? :whistles: ) Anyways, point being...they have a section completely dedicated to the local groups (it is @ the home page of the forums) and they plan many group events even if it is just a road day trip over the mountains (or through a desert depending on where you are). Moral of story, I was wondering if anyone else out there would be interested in a section like that or if it would even be possible or does this idea just completely suck? . Just a (good idea) or a :chairshot: (Alright blk & blk you need to shut the.....) would work. I am just curious really. Input!
  11. I actually work for PSE as a claims rep...you can guess how fun my days can be. I have no pix as of yet...stock isn't too much fun to look @ ya know? My GS is a '98...first year of the second gen.
  12. Thank you! This is what I meant (I think)...like I said, it was my rommie's car, I just had to hear about him b*tch about if for about 4 days...
  13. If this is a new vehicle then yes the warrenty would cover it. I have not had that happen so I couldn't tell you what it means. In my roommates case ('93 GS) those two lights came on and then a couple of days later the ABS light came on as well and it turned out to be some fluke thing that Lexus was unable to find with diag yet when reset it never came back. That could be a one in a mill chance for all I know though....suggestion, take it to lexus.
  14. Have you tried Racing Concept in Lynnwood or TSR in Bellevue? http://www.racingconcept.com/rc/
  15. Yeah, I could name them yet we are not here to slam anyone...I just know that they were supposed to be good reputable "paintless dent repair" shops...none of them were body shops though, I will check there soon.
  16. This is great info to know, I actually got 3 opinions yet I did notice that not one of them had gone in to look anything up other than on their little clip board that they brought out with them. Thanks a mill. for the ammo to go back and question their quote.
  17. Hey there, and congrads on your purchase! You can actually call (that is what I did) the local Lexus dealer and they can tell you everything and anything that has been done AT A LEXUS DEALERSHIP. I was actually able to use that as a tool to get a better price..mine was serviced every 3K miles, with the exception of the last 20K!!! They actually do have a detail section, you would want to scroll down in the lexus forums section and you will be able to answer any questions there. Don't worry, I am new as well but have yet to run accorss anyone not willing to help. I hope this helps out a little! Welcome to the pursuit of perfection!
  18. Not to get you up tight...but about 2 weeks after I picked up my car I came out of the club and found two nice creases that someone thought might look nice on my drivers side rear quarter panel (even though I paid to park in a garage with large spots). The problem is, no paintless dent repair here. Been advised that I need to replace that panel, ever looked @ it? Yeah, up over the back door, continue to the front door, what the hell, why don't we go all the way to the hood? You got it, you gotta pay for those smooth lines we all roll. Hopefully you are in better shape than myself man, but I feel your pain.
  19. Wow...guess I just had to wait for the weekend to show up... Giga_bit-if you want to try and get together sometime soon let me know...e-mail me @ ejdeberry@hotmail.com and let me know contact info ect... Sternern-because I was shooting for Seattle @ first let me see if giga_bit gets in touch with me...if not I will hit you up and throw a couple of stamps on and they will be on their way to you...otherwise if you are willing to pay I would refer you to the lextasy web site...$15 & free shipping. -bEn- -Sorry my internet was down this weekend...I am a lil' late...
  20. Well thank you, as far as I knew this web site was ultimately set up for Lexus owners to help out their fellow Lexus owner friends and all. I tried...*shrug*
  21. Alright guys...anyone anywhere out there want them? Was shooting for WA but it wouldn't be any hassel to just mail them to someone I guess...just let me know..
  22. Just had to give you props on the rims...looking nice. Noticed you were in Bellevue area, that is where I work, nice to know that not everyone here in the land of the lexus's is old and boring!
  23. Seattle, WA We have S.I.R. (Seattle International Raceways) but recently changed to Pacific Raceways up here. For those of you in the UK it is a racetrack that you and your buddies can go to and throw down a couple of bucks and LEAGALY race eachother. Yeah, the adrenalin rush of breaking the law isn't there but the one from kickin' some @ss :chairshot: on the raceways still is. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone with a 100% completely stock GS 300 complete with the grampa gold pin-stripe, but it is fun to roll with friends as well.
