  1. YOKOHAMA AVS db S2 V-RATED. This is all weather tire rated best in handling, stiff sidewall, great wet and excellent dry tracktion, quite and most importantly great comfort even on V rated tire. READ OWNERS REVIEWS BELOW. I'm buying those after 3 days of research. Forget any Michelin tire, Bridgestone, goodyear. http://www.tirerack.com/survey/SurveyComme...commentStatus=P http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes
  2. Nothing is the "best" - everything is a compromise. That Yoko is a small coupe tire, not designed for cars like ours. Today I had a set of Michelin XGT-H4's in the 215-65/15 size installed to replace the Bridgestone RE930i's, and they are far quieter, steer better, at a small cost in ride. You get what you pay for. Costco took the Bridgestones back at what I paid for them - excellent service - and let me move up to the Michelins for a lot less than I figured. I haven't found a tire manufacturer yet that says their tires are noisy, or wear quickly, or ride hard, or have poor traction in any weather. They all heap the praises on their product, and hope we won't compare. The only way to know is to drive them. Obviously you have not read reviews OF PEOPLE THAT RIDE ON THOSE.....THE CUSTOMERS.... US...PEOPLE WHO DRIVE ON THOSE not manufactures, cause otherwise you would not write what you wrote. I even included link for you. Other thing i just spent 3 days doing research on Michelin and XGT tire as well. PEACE OF !Removed!. Don't buy those tires. Soft sidewall will give heavy cars like ours 5000lbs + balloon like ride, not good handling..as to compromise read all 72 reviews of people for those YOKO's and then comment on YOKO. Michelin's are overprised namebrand tires that don't hold up to it's japanees competiton. Well i guess japanees even perfected that aspect of technology. Honestly guys read all 72 reviews of people who own them and compare that to XGT reviews and you will know what's up. In those 72 reviews is 4 i think lexus reviews. If any tire is soft and balloon like IT'S MICHELIN. Dunlop P5000 is actually little better but people can't stand road noice and Yokos are quite. Also they look sharp as hell. Other thing I learned that 205 are definitly too nearrow tires for ls400. That was design mistake or just lexus being cheap in first 2 years of production. Notice any 93+ LS has 225 tires as stock. Notice also Q45 infinity has 225. 225 is perfect width for that car on stock 15" rims. 225-60-15. However if you change rims then it's a different story. Guys as standoffish I am in this response I'm trying to relay 3 days of heavy research to you guys. Don't go with any YOKO, but defenitly this one is a WINNER. JUST READ REVIEWS...THAT'S ALL I'M SAYING.
  3. .....did you say supercharger ? !!!!!! :P you ask you shall receive http://www.lextreme.com/sc.htm ENJOY. I am shopping for rims myself as well.
  4. I just found out that i can get these puppies for the same price in which case it's no contest. description http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes ratings/opinions http://www.tirerack.com/survey/SurveyComme...commentStatus=P
  5. Thanx guys for the input. I just found out for the same price I can go with those in which case it's no contest. It's the best tire....period.....read reviews. V RATED. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes http://www.tirerack.com/survey/SurveyComme...commentStatus=P

  10. Help me choose which tire to go with. I have checked discout tire and just tires stores. I do not want to buy from online because i still have to pay $20 per tire to put them on and balance them so it's not worth it in my opinion. Also s/h. I might check firestone place too but not for their tires....for obvious reasons. So far i have two options. I live in chicago area so snow and rain is a factor. I am looking for quite, good comfort, good handling in wet, snow and dry. Yokohama YK420 http://discounttire.com/dtc/findTireDetail...CodeIndex=43438 OR Michelin Pilot XGT H4 http://discounttire.com/dtc/findTireDetail...CodeIndex=35845 Yokohama is according to opinions of people on epinions.com quiter, good ride comfort but some say it floats on highways and sidewall bend easily, good long wear 4 tires cost = $356 http://www.epinions.com/Yokohama_YK420_Pas...isplay_~reviews Michelin is said it's stiffer side wall, good traction, low noice (notice yoko is better), good handling might be more siffer and compromise ride comfort for handling 4 tires cost = $512 http://www.epinions.com/auto-Tires-All-Mic...isplay_~reviews Help me guys in the choice. I leaning towards yokos for softer ride and quiter but i'm affraid like one guy said that on highway it floats instead of good handling. In michelins i get good handling but I am affraid of stiff ride, noisy tires. WHAT YOU GUYS THINK ?
  11. thanx guys. I have also called discout tire and they have confirmed that it will not be a problem to put 225-60-15 on stock rims. I have really only two choices for tires Yokohama YK420 http://discounttire.com/dtc/findTireDetail...CodeIndex=43438 OR Michelin Pilot XGT H4 http://discounttire.com/dtc/findTireDetail...CodeIndex=35845 Yokohama is according to opinions of people on epinions.com quiter, good ride comfort but some say it floats on highways and sidewall bend easily, good long wear 4 tires cost = $356 http://www.epinions.com/Yokohama_YK420_Pas...isplay_~reviews Michelin is said it's stiffer side wall, good traction, low noice (notice yoko is better), good handling might be more siffer and compromise ride comfort for handling 4 tires cost = $512 http://www.epinions.com/auto-Tires-All-Mic...isplay_~reviews Help me guys in the choice. 12. Thanks michaelsn for info and pics. That helped since I didn't know what some ment by speakers don't fit...now i know, it needs open holes. Does anyone know what RMS wattage and peak wattage is on stock amp (91ls) ? I believe it should say in Service Manual if anyone has one. I doubt there is any info on that in owner's manual....also Did anyone figure out what is the deal with those non-working speakers on your original post/problem ? Did it burned or cable broke ?
  13. YES..you have to remove battery and air filter to change headlight bulbs. To the best of my knowledge there is no way around it. The screws for headlights are for adjustment and removal of whole lamp, which is more difficult then removal of battery and air filter. For fog lights and side markers you do not have to. ANYONE HAS PICTURES SHOWING HOW TO ADJUST HEADLIGHTS OR SERVICE MANUAL PAGES SHOWING IT ?
  14. Anyone knows what is the RMS (continiues) AMP wattage on 91 lex ls ? I have one non-working speaker in rear right panel and want replace all 4, but RMS is what matters and 20W is not enough for me, but then again I don't know what is peak and rms wattage on first gen amps ???? Also anyone noticed that original speakers can't handle 3/4 or more power on radio/cd ? I would think 50w rms would do it, besides the more rms wattage the cleaner and crisper it will sound. Other thing, those 11 yr old paper cones are saturated with moisture, dust, dirt and sound is comprimised by it. I am considering between these two http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-5SmFM...a=0&cc=01&avf=N or http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-5SmFM...a=0&cc=01&avf=N
  15. Thanx fot input guys. Anyone tried 225 tire size on first generation (90-93) 15" OEM rims or knows for a fact it is do-able and knows what side effects if any would 225 tire size inflict ?
  16. Will 225 tire size fit on our stock rims ? (91 ls400) Does anyone have that and how is the ride on thos ?
  17. God dang...why is everything so complicated with lexus. I have the same problem on my 91 ls. I keep turning the screw and nothing happens. I have 4100k lights on my lex and they are so bright and high up people think i'm driving on long lights and get *BLEEP*ed at me. I have to give a try with power tools like you said. I just purchased 7500k lights and will put them on but first need to adjust the lights. Anyone has any diagrams to post for adjustment ?
  18. THANX BRO. APPRICATE YOUR HELP. WILL DO ;)
  19. Anyone knows if Toyota speakers are same as Lexus speakers, at least shape and size of those 4". This is what i found under Toyota only speakers. Toyota Shaped speakers
  20. .....it also opens up fuel injectors to full spray instead of economical on normal. You have more hp on ECT then on normal
  21. Anyone wants to swap 1991 manual for 1993 Lexus LS400 owner's manual ? I have gotten 1993 manual with my 1991 ls400. Anyone wants to swap ? Mine is very good condition. Leave post here or email me.
  22. SRK...I agree with most of it..makes sense but i have poured out 5-30 of synthetic and 5-30 conventional and it seemed to me that synthetic was pouring faster and thinner then conventional...maybe it's just visual....but conventional seems more thinker even though they state same thinkness. Also few people told me that is more thinner but thank you for your help....you are probably write...i am not car expert that is why i ask for help here... srk what oil brand and grade do you recomment to prevent from burning of oil ? Right now i use award won Valvoline Higher mileage 5w-30. it still eats one quart for every 3000miles oil change which means that before my next oil change i have to add at least one quart of oil. It ticks me off cause i don't like to check for oil every 2 weeks.
  23. OK. On mine that is exacly what is happening. First i noticed that compressor was making loud noices when i turned on a/c however i noticed it was blowing worm air. So i though it's probably dry on oil and a/c. I bought can of a/c with oil already in can. Charged it and then compressor made noise for 30 min then it stop and blinkin light started to blink.. 1. Must i replace compressor or what ? 2. Is there metal debris inside the system ? 3. If yes do i need this filter http://www.auto-air-compressor.com/filter.htm or is there sensor protection not to allow debris to get into the system ? 4. Can i find it cheaper then $299 ?
  24. machined....sound cheap...which is good but who does that ? what is the proper term for fixing them ....what type of place does that name ? ...thanx for your help bro
  25. I STAND CORRECTED, however flush wont' clear out debris..at least not according to this article. READ THIS. Also great price for compressor $299....anyone can find it cheaper ? If yes where ? I am looking for one !!!!! http://www.auto-air-compressor.com/filter.htm
