  1. Shaking of steering wheel when breaking at 50mph + below 40mph not at all. I have recently changed brakes for ceramics and in begining i though that new breaks had to be broken in. But its been few thousand miles and it did not stop. It's not horrible but after all it's lex....i can't have anything annoying going on in my lex so i dealt with it but now i'm kinda getting frustrated. Are my rotors bent from overheating ? what's the scoop ?
  2. GOOD POINT.....ONLY FM...AM WORKS OK but I am not planNing to listen to AM
  3. I hear you guys...FOUR problems. 1. Synthetic is thinner then 5w-30 so it makes sense to me that engine will burn that oil even faster. Also if I heard correctly because of age of my and your’s car (1991)car was driven on conventional so it’s not good to change now to synthetic. That is at least what I heard. Other theory is that conventional oil is better at sealing worn out seals in engine where synthetic does not. 2. RESTORE.....I had few yrs ago Mitsubishi conquest/starion and had a turbo. I put restore in it...turbo went out after few months....coincidence???? or NOTTTTTT....I don't know but I’m afraid of RESTORE product..... How long have you guys driven your car on RESTORE ? Any coincidental problems? RESTORE will always say it was due to age of your car that ....let say valves failed.... 3. RESTORE is very thick write ??!!!!.....well 5w-30 was put on an engine for a reason so thin oil can lubricate even smallest places in the engine....what do you think ....SLUDGE like RESTORE will do to let say valves holes ? ....seal it for good ? ...I am not mechanic and maybe stupid but my common sense tells me RESTORE = DISEASTER. 4. On 10w30 it seems to me that it takes longer and little harder for engine to start up. I takes me probably 1.5 times longer to start. Of course I am talking about second or two but I can tell the difference. Especially that harder start... WHAT ARE YOU THOUGHT WHAT I SAID.
  4. Toddls400...thanx for your input and help. I'm not sure if you are awere of this but a lot of oil change and aft change places not have machines (machine names differes) where they drain ALL ...12 QUARTS of fluid from trany and converter and whatever there is left. That machine has been in circulation for last 2 years at least. Bad thing about lexus dealer....they dont' have it so i bought 12 quarts of atf t-iv from lexus for $40 and will have that changed at that place that has that equipment. I RECOMMEND YOU TO DO THE SAME. Remember when they change your transmission fluid they only drain 3-4 quarts of fluid that is only 1/3 (33%) of atf. 67% of 11 yrs old fluid stays in there.....very baddddddddddd... Anyway....neither toyota nor lexus no more sell atf in these 4 liter cans...at least not in illinois but only in quarts. Toyota wanted $73 for 12 quarts. Lexus got me deal for $40 for entire case (12q) but in maybe somerwhere else is different..i dont' know. I wish they would sell them in those 4 liter cans...only $25 for the can....good deal.
  5. I noticed that all of you guys assume that there will be metal particules in rest of the system....how so ? I think my compressor have seized not fell apart to pieces. I don't follow you guys ...please explain !! My and my freind theory (who is ac/electician...but not on cars) is that due to someone putting new ac freon without flushing it first from old; both of them mixed and compressor have seized. I don't see have it would fell apart to pieces inside. please explain. My friend said he will change that for me for $50 (again he is ac repairman but not on cars) and i plan to spend $299 on compressor. So that is $350 instead of someone spending $2000 in lexus dealer. The only problem that worries me now is you guys saying metal particules in the system. Maybe one of you guys had that case but assume that everyone will .....why ?
  6. TSQ i think i like best out of these 3, however i would get them in chrome i think. Mb looks tight too but you will see rotors thougth it so that is why i choose mine 5 Think spoke cause you will bearly see rotors and look tight....good luck..in whatever you choose...it will defenilty look better then THIS OLD GRANDPA stock rims we all have on our Ls400's.
  7. I was asked to post these rims on my ride.. So here we go...that's not real picture just photoshop but it still looks sweet. I'm planning to buys these but i wanted to get some feedback first.
  8. Once in a while i will drive and all of the sudden will loose signal and white noice on all radio stations. Anyone had similar problem ? 91 ls400.
  9. Guys i use conventional Valvoline "Higher Millage" 5-30w engine oil. My lex has 151 k. My engine tends to burn 1 quater of oil per 2 months or so so i tried that oil. Not much improvement. 1. What is the best oil when burning oil for that car ? 2. What do you guys use ?
  10. I have 91 ls400 with 151k miles. Trany is smooth but not as smooth as it us to be. I checked color on tf and it's light brown. I bought that car a year ago and have not changed it yet. Who knows when the guy changed it. I am changing it soon. I read on net that only Toyota type II or Type IV is compatible. Now some guys are using type IV and say that after to switch to type IV its like brand new trany....smooth. What is the the difference between Type II vs Type IV ? Is one better or should stick with type II. Now does lexus change all 12q of atf or just 4q. Most of the places now change all 12quarts.
  11. I plan on buying neeper haaaz 18" rims for my 91 ls400. Do you guys know what offset, specs or rims be compatible. Also will i give up comfort on driving. what wall hight on tires 40, 45 ? Give me all your thought guys from your experience. All input great appricated.
  12. I have A/C problem. My 91 ls400 is not blowing any air even after recharge. Before i have recharged it when i turned on a/c sounded like compressor was making grinding noices. After recharge stoped making these noices but now a/c light on the LCD is flashing. Anyone had similar problem with ls400. I have my buddy check out the noice and he said that a/c compressor is dead. Can you guys give me some pointers. thanx.
