  1. Wait....this does not make sense the lexus is300 does not have 25 watt speakers.......My 2003 IS300 has 230 watt pioneer speakers unless the models before that had 25 watt speakers but there seems to be some confusions. And my 230 watt pioneer speakers are the standard that come with it, not the upgrade.
  2. I think mirror-tinting is not illegal anywhere in the united states as long as its not on the front driver or front passenger windows. I got this information from a tint laws website dont know if it helps much. California NO / NO / ANY / ANY* / 1987 ? Note : If the rear-back window is tinted, left and right rear-view mirrors are required. Medical exemption allows for tint or other shading material is allowed on the front side doors if it allows at least 35% of the light to go through, readily is removable and cannot be used at night. Enforcement Note : Out-of-State cars driven in California are required to be in compliance with the CA Tint law.
  3. Also a sharp object could of pierced your window while driving and created a small hole and the wind must be generating that whistle sound. My brothers bmw has a small rock chip hole on his window, so it could be a possibility. Good luck.
  4. Out of curiosity, don't you feel like you're just throwing that money away? After all, the $18000 you put down is the total depreciation on the car if not more on a four year lease. Then you're paying an extra $85 a month. :whistles: ← Well it would be the same thing if I bought the car really. Leasing just saves you the hassle of trying to sell the car when you dont need it anymore, after all keeping a car for more than four years starts to get expensive as they start experience alot of problems. So its really a preference if you want to buy/finance the car or lease it. I like to move from car to car so I lease. ;p
  5. I leased a 2005 IS in February fully loaded for $365/month. I got a 48 mo. lease at 15K miles a year. I used their option for multiple security deposits you are able to get back at the end of the lease. I put the maximum of around $3500 into that. Hope that helps. ← I leased a 2003 IS300, I know its not THAT current but just to give you an idea. I put down 18000 and i have the 48 month lease with 10K miles per year and my monthly payments are 85 dollars.
  6. Hey welcome to the board. Take no offense but please do not cover the car seats with slip covers. It looks very cheap and it just looks bad. Dont do that to a nice car unless there is something wrong with the seats that you want to hide, than its ok. ;p Thats my innocent opinion. :P
  7. Hi, I am looking to buy a rear skirt for my rear bumper and I can not locate on the web a local stores in Houston. If anyone lives in Houston, Texas and you know of any stores that sells custom body parts for Is300 please let me know. Thank you!!!
  8. Hi, I am a real fanatic when it comes to keeping my is300 clean. But I never bother to clean whats under the hood b/c im scared im gonna break something. :( Its all dusty and grimy and I have no knowledge on to how to clean it. Can someone please inform me on what to do? PS. I read a previous discussion on this posted not to long ago and it was still very werid b/c someone said hosing it down and while the engine is running????? Is it not one of the purposes of the hood to protect the engine from getting wet???? HELPPP! :chairshot: Thank you!!! :D
  9. Hi, I recently saw a VVTI emblem on the front grill of a Scion Tc and I thought that looked pretty sharp. Obviously since my IS300 has a VVTI engine I seriously thought about buying one of those emblems myself and putting it on my front grill. On ebay those things sell on average for 15-20 dollars each, not including the average 5 dollar shipping and handling, IMO that is way to much for a tiny piece of metal that is 1/2 a inch by 1 inch. Does anyone know where I can find those things for a more reasonable price?? Thank you!!!
  10. Hi recently my car was hit by something on the back bumper and it made an unoticable dent on the very bottom panel of the back bumper of my 2003 IS300. Its very hard to notice but if there was a way of covering it with something instead of getting the whole bumper replaced or painted. I was thinking of like sticker decals like maybe in a black color that I could cut into a long strip to apply on that bottom panel of the back bumper as way of adding some type of design but in reality to cover that dent b/c it bothers me a little. IF anyone knows anything about where I could purchase a black decal sticker that I could cut into a desirable shape and apply it to my car and that it could be removed easily when I turn my car in please let me know. When the light shines on it at a certain angle it makes a crease line and it really bothers me and I dont want to spend like 90 dollars on adent removal or 500 dollars on replacing or repainting the bumper. Also If anyone else has any ideas about how to hide this dent without spending TONS of money please let me know as well. Thanks!
  11. Vergy good question bud. :P I remember last year when I went to go purchase the 2003 IS 300 Sport design I was death set on it. Let me tell you why. Before that for about 3 weeks I went to all the foreign dealears (hence no american dealers b/c american cars are just not dependable.) I went to Subaru, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Nissan, and Infinit. I researched all cars and eventhough these companies had very good cars some were overpriced (i.e Toyota), some had cheap parts(i.e Infinit), and basically some had weak engines(i.e Audi) for all the money you have to pay for the car. Lexus has the most reasonable prices for very nice cars that hardly have any flaws. I mean the name lexus tells you all, Luxury and Elegance. Now obviously I cant afford the very expensive cars and thats why I was shopping in the market with a limit of 35,000 dollars. And trust me the IS300 is the best buy for that price. Now you may be thinking why cant I just get a BMW 325ci/i in that price range. Well altough its a BMW having the 325 feels like your overshadowed by the higher model the 330ci/i which is like saying you cant afford 330 so you bought the 325. I personally would not like that though in the back of my head. So the best choice for is Lexus Is300, its sleek, its stylish, its sporty, its very luxurious, its pimped out, and its just an awesome car. keep in mind it has a 215 hp engine with 218 torgue. Its not exactly a BMW or Mercedes but its got the power to pack the punch ( take it on a test drive). After all only the sophisticated and mannered drive Lexus. B) Good Luck getting your new car and remember do your homework, look around.
  12. HI , I am the owner of a 2003 Lexus IS300 sportdesign. And there seems to be something wrong with my front left tire. Starting about 3 weeks ago it started to loose air every week. First week I noticed it its was at 15 psi and went to the gas station and filled it up back to 35, then the next week it was down to 25 psi and I filled it up again. Now its getting flat again! I am a casual driver and I never put any strain on my tires, and I take care of my car well. Those wheels have never been damaged either. I see no sign of external damage, but I need to see the whole tire in order to make a conclusion on that. Does anyone know what might be causes of this, because my other tires which I treat with the same respect are perfectly fine. What is the warranty on the Z-rated Bridgestone tires and do you think it is replaceable with no charge? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hey Rob, I have the same car and I had the same idea of getting the lexus navigation system installed after I already bought the car without it. Unfortunately my question was answered with a no. The dealership said that when you buy a IS300 already with navigation they have the computer and all the wiring and navigation already built in during manufacturing of the car. And given the situation they can not put it in now because it will lead to big problems in the future. Some one also told me its possible though, but it will cost so much money its not even worth it. Personally I would not want people to tear open my beauty. :D And like it said it will lead to problems in the future so be my like me and just pass on it, you don't need that trash. :P
  14. I have leased the 2003 Is300 SportDesign from my local lexus dealership for four years. The down payment on the car was 17-18,000 and with the rates and deals at the time, my monthly payments came out to be $85 dollars a month. Oh and I convinced them to throw in the tint and pin stripe job for free.
  15. Hey guys I have good news. I went to my local dealership and they said that they will replace them for free and that the issue was due to incorrect finishing. So thank you guys for your input. ;)

  17. I do not understand what you mean. Maybe you don't know what I am talking about? The paint is chipping off the paint that is on the emblem. Are you saying to remove the left over paint and then put some paint on myself? B)
  18. Thank you for responding to my question. I now understand on what to do and I will go to a Lexus Dealership and take care of this some time soon. I will respond back to this forum on what happens. Thank you. ;)
  19. Hello everyone, I have the 2003 Lexus IS300 SportDesign. As you peeps know it comes with the different style rims that are 5 spoke with arms branching out consecutively, unlike the regular rims which are chrome like and have about 4 arms branching out. Well to the point. Who ever reads this and has the SportDesign model or knows what I am talking about please explain to me why the Lexus Emblems located at the center of the Rims is peeling off? Its a chrome lexus sign embedded on a glossy, black background and the black, glossy paint is chipping off for no reason. Does anyone know the cause of this or does anyone have this problem too and maybe has a solution? Is the emblem piece seperate from the rim so it can be replaced or did it come designed with the rim itself? <_< If someone could answer these questions for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. :D
  20. Hi, does anybody know how to remove the plastic trimming inside the moonroof? Thanx.
  21. Why would u want to that to your lexus IS300? lol :P
  22. I am curious about something are the lexus moonroofs tinted glass like the glass on houses or are they covered with a film strip like the windows? Please someone reply. Keep in mind im talking about the outer glass and the interior side of the moonroof glass.
  23. Is it easy to get a lexus dealership to replace the sunroof under the one year warranty? Also is it easy to remove just the moonroof from the slider arms and rack, its screwed on right? Thanx. Anyone else have this problem?
  24. The noise comes when im driving. And it stops when I stop. It gets really loud in more unpleasant streets.
