  1. Baby blue wire on nav. Works great, only down side if you don't put in a switch, is the wheels in the idiogram don't turn!!!!!!! Sorry I don't have old thread for the procedure. Do a search! Try this courtesy of Club Lexus http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...phone+in+motion
  2. I'll bet it was the inverter harness shorting out. Happened twice with me until they finally found the short in the harness and replaced it!!!!!
  3. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227901
  4. My 06 is a year old, I just hit a pothole and after the spare was installed, I couldn't open the plastic valve cover cap because of corrosion. The entire valve would spin. Much spray gets thrown on the spare and it's probably a good idea to clean and check it once in a while!!~
  5. I totally agree, my Vais works perfectly, I even sent it back for a free update to solve the Phone LCD glitch and enable, disable AUX function addition. I would not hesitate to install again, Buy extra screws for the radio if you do your own install!!
  6. i thot i would share with my fellow hybrid friends, is that ok? Not uncommon for all auto exec's to test the competition and learn how to improve product. They all drive competitive brands for testing ! You don't believe Mercedes and BMW do the same?
  7. MY understanding is if you switch fuel grades, several tankfuls may be necessary for the computer to optimize to the change, before mileage change occurs!
  8. Why not just buy the Toyota Synergy Badge from the Prius!
  9. do 5.1 dvd's work in our generation? 06 400H sept. 05 build
  10. There were previous threads with pictures, but, the pictures are now gone. In essence you remove the radio, and the lower panel on the passenger side (left foot well) plug cable into radio, then into unit which goes in left footwell and i-pod cable goes in glove box, or wherever you want it. This is not a difficult install, hardest part is removing top 2 of the 4 screws holding the radio in without loosing them, as most of us have done!! sorry no pictures exist any more that I can find!! You'll really love the unit!!!!! Good luck!!
  11. The phone glitches have been solved in a software update, for the vaistech SLI. Also the Aux input can be disabled Now so you don't have to cycle through CD1, CD1(Aux) anymore. Sorry I can't answer I-Pod questions, but the unit works great!! When you are listening to the Ipod, and you make a call via bluetooth, the text information gets lost and you just see "NO TITLE" for the song/album/info. You can fix it by power off/on or switching source and then back, and the info will return to the screen. Annoying but not a huge deal. I've had the Vaistech SLI installed for about 3 months now. I concur that it is worthwhile if you want to listen to the iPod in the car - many leaps and bounds better than a Monster FM transmitter. However, there are a few glitches such as the one mentioned and the fact that you have to use playlists in order to see the data on the ML panel. There is a "safe mode" which allows you to control via the iPod, but I find it unnecessary to use it very much. The instruction book leaves somethings to be desired, but overall, it's accurate and represents what happens. The other complaint I have is the slow response time - not really a problem - just something you have to get used to. When you press a button on the head unit, it takes a few seconds for the command to take effect on the iPod. I'd like someone to explain shuffle play on the iPod to me. I just want to randomize a playlist on the fly, but can't seem to make it happen on the iPod or through the SLI :-). Call me silly. I did notice that when I was in my dealer the last time, they were advertising an "Aftermarket iPod Interface" for about $550 installed. I did not look closely to see what manufacturer it was.
  12. I don't believe you can play MP3's on our audio system. I use a Vasitech ipod adaptor which, I find just fine. Otherwise you can use your Regular CD's. Full bluetooth dialing out, using car keypad, while driving, requires cutting the blue Vehicle speed sensing wire, mentioned in old threads. It is an excellent MOD.
  13. Most ipod adapters don't disable your existing CD changer, they show up as an additional CD changer. I have an iPod adapter in my BMW, and was also thinking of having one added to my RX. Haven't gotten around to it though. This looks promising: http://www.vaistech.com/sli.html The Vaistech unit is very good. Has a few minor glitches with phone use, but all in all works well. installation is not too difficult if you are at all handy. It's been explained along with xm radio installation in past posts. it also gives you a spare aux. input for other sound sources.
  14. What is this an old British sports car? Doesn't start or stop in the rain!
  15. MANUAL !, WHO READS THE MANUAL! Seriously, Thanks for the info, after talking to the Dealer, I had mistakenly thought that it was a computer only issue, Auto leveling regardless of headlight assembly position. I do count on this forum!!!!!
  16. Does anyone know how to adjust the headlights, that the dealer refuses to do??
  17. I find the low beam headlights are poor at speed. I am constantly overdriving them to the point of danger. I am forced to put high beams on constantly, to the annoyance of on coming drivers. Lexus says the self leveling headlights are adjusted properly. On dimly lit highways I am unsure of whats in front. Anyone else feel this is a problem? Anyone add auxiliary lights? Yes, I could slow down, but!!
  18. Thanks for the thread and the time you have invested in it! I wish I had been able to see this information before I purchased my A940 Sprint phone. I knew there would be issues, but not to the extent I've suffered. To be fair, it does work properly receiving calls through the car MOST of the time. Calling out is Iffy!
  19. So they don't actually give you the disc? Thenew DVD remains in the Unit, that's what you pay for!!
  20. I find the turning radius much better than my RX300, which was terrible. This is a large vehicle and this is a huge improvement. I can't compare it to any other SUV at this time.
  21. I am sure itmdtr is right. It also says right in the owners manual that the black antenna is an extra radio antenna along with the one in the back window. The Factory Parts Microfiche I have shows the black antenna as part of the nav system Parts listing. It may have a dual function, but, I am inclined to say that it indeed is for the nav.
  22. We are experiencing the same issues with the new SAMSUNG A900 and Sprint - requires turning BT off on phone and re-enabling it. We have a new Samsung SCH-a950 from Verizon. When the car is turned on the system indicates that bluetooth has connected. We can use the screen in the car to make a call. The problem is that most of the time the voice does not switch over to the car's handsfree system; you have to talk and listen on the phone. Some of the time it works properly (i.e. the cars speaker and mic work). It seems hit and miss, it either connects fully or not, and if not, you make a call, the call goes thru annoying the called person, yet we cant talk to them. But the next time we start up the car, it might work correctly. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? The phone works fine with a bluetooth headset so it seems the phone is OK. The car works fine with another phone (Cingular/Motorola V551 always works) so it seems the car is OK. But the combination is flaky and unsuitable for prime time. I don't know what to do. This again is exactly the same problem. Samsung tech's say "this is a problem and they forward the issue for checking". Lexus has never gotten back to me. Sprint says ? Change to cingular or bypass car and use bluetooth headset..... I still gamble that when I'm in the car it will work to receive a call or send, and I wind up picking up phone. It *BLEEP*es me off because when I got the phone a Sprint rep came out to the car and paired it and it seemed to work fine.....as you know!!! Frustrating, HuH!!!!
  23. MySamsung A940, always pairs, half the time calls go in and out from car, other times no car audio only through phone. Impossible to predict. Tried a cingular Moto. connected and showed power bars, I never get with the 940. Seems to work flawlessly. but I'm not ready to spend more money and pay cancellation fee for Sprint, to change. I will try to change phones in Sprint, if any will work reliably. Are the connections with 900 or 920 solid through the car audio? I'm ready to just use the Bluetooth earpiece and chuck the car connections. I have tried disabling and enabling bluetooth and turning phone off and on, to no avail. Still never know if phone is going to work through the car audio system! Thanks for any advice!
