  1. This is a FYI. I could find nothing online regarding the location of the low pressure ac port on a 2006 GX470. Finally had to ask the dealer. Very easy to reach once you know where it is.

Facing the car, remove the left sided plastic cover.there are rivet removal tools at auto stores(these break less than removing with screwdriver).the cover says "power steering fluid" on it. This extends from the front to back of the engine compartment. Once removed you will see the "L" valve in the front of the compartment. Simply remove the cap and attach the freon recharge can/hose and follow the directions. I recomend getting one with a built in gauge. More expensive, but very easy to use. Back to nice and frosty.

    Difficulty level 2/10

    Photos to follow.

  2. Gx 470 2006

This problem has been getting worse.if i crank it with the key it wont turn over.sometimes with several attempts and depressing gas pedal.turnsover first time with starter. They replaced the battery a few years back and it did wwork better. How could a bad battery be the cause of this.i assume it draws the same juice with either start.

    Ideas?

  3. Have you changed the settings to the sport (I think it says sport) to make the suspension stiffer? If so and it still seems like the ride is to bouncy...maybe check the air pressure in the tires.

Pressure was good and it was way bouncy.I have two of these models and could by no means reproduce itinerary the other.

  4. The toggle he is referring to is the windshield wiper stalk...or arm. The main on/off for windshield wiper. I think all the way up is off, down 1 auto, down 1 low...so on.

Thanks .do you know where the sensor is located on the windshield ? Is it in front of the rear view?

  5. I have 2 ,2006s.in both,this feature no longer works.just low and high.

    Easy fix?

    Common problem?

Could you tell me if the toggle s/w for the rain sensor is in Auto Mode. Also sometimes if the sensor which is stuck to the windscreen, there is a tape which holds it together P/n 89944-50010, costs 10 bucks i assume, so maybe the glue is weak have them replaced, it works.

Where is the toggle switch located?

  6. What exactly is “the clunk”? I read a good portion of the pinned post on the issue but I can’t seem to find what it is and when it happens.

I have an 07 so I’m guessing that it isn’t an issue with this model year.

One thing I do experience is this. As I slowly pull up to a stop sign or red light and just before the vehicle comes to a complete stop it feels like something releases. The truck kind of lets go of something like the transmission is going into neutral.

    I don’t hear a clunk so I’m assuming it’s something else.

    G

Unfortunately, the clunk affects 2003- 2007 AND, even the 2008, as I have come to learn. The Clunk is felt when you are slowing down or when you come to a stop, 1-2 seconds later, you feel a lovetap or a slight "clunk" from the rear. There's a technical service bulletin for this from Lexus and they will change the driveshaft and control arms for 2003-2007. As far as I know, it's just an annoyance and no safety implications.

can you get the drive train replaced even if you arent experiencing the clunk? i.e. can you tell them it happens intermittently?

  7. I have a 2006 and was considering updating the nav dvd.Pros?Cons?

Updated maps and POI's are the pro's

Cost may be the con's based on your economic status

The newer ones dont stop the nav override feature,do they?
