  1. I think my GX does the same thing when the car is not warm up. Once it warm up, it is at a steady 6000 rpm.
  2. Make sure they replace the drive shaft and the lower control arms, thats what the TSB calls for. They are suppose to check the rear ride height and adjust if necassary on the air suspension when they do the TSB.
  3. TM8000, there are a lot of owners from another forum reported the parts have came in for the cluck TSB. You may want to call your dealer again or call other dealers in your area.
  4. I dont see that on my 05 manual.
  5. I agree, Toyota got caught off guard by the hugh demand. At the same time, its not a safety issue, so it is just a matter of time before it gets fix. Other auto manufacturer would have just ignore it and fix it on their next re-design. I have experience it first hand with Acura and Jeep myself.
  6. Check your spare tires and pump it up to 36 psi, there is no reset for the GX's TPMS.
  7. Thats a good one, a disclossure on a new car. What would the disclossure say on a Ford explorer? Vehicle may flip over during high speed travel or the ABS brake module may catch fire for no reason and cause a fire in the engine compartment? My point is that, you can find many luxury SUV out there that cost more than the GX and have alot more problems.
  8. If what they are telling us is the turth, which I dont have any reason to believe that it is not, then thumbs up to Lexus for quality control. It just make me wonder about the lower control arms they have already release into the new production GX and the TSB.
  9. Does that mean that all the new lower control arms they have already put in are no good?
  10. They have stop making 4runners with rear air suspension for now to try to catch up on production of these rear control arms for the new GX and the TSB. I guess Lexus / Toyota are really having production issues.
  11. The problem with K&N filter is when people re-oil them, they tend to over oil and contaminate the oxygen sensor. As far as better gas milage or better accelaration, it is because of the new air filter. An old K&N filter actually pass more dirt and restrict the flow more than OEM.
  12. I think you are right. Just dial up the average MPG on your GX's computer and multiply by 23 and you get your range.
  13. IMHO, the GX is worth its many pennies. I think what we have to keep in mind is that at least Lexus has a plan to fix the cluck, this is where many other manufacturers fall short.
  14. One of the key to the success of Lexus and Toyota is parts made on time and just as needed. I dont think Lexus, in their wildest dreams, would imagine that there would be such as huge demand for this TSB.
  15. So far, I havent heard of anybody who had the TSB done and the cluck came back. My guess is that they are running out of parts and they want to alocate them to production first before TSB.
  16. You dont have to buy getto rims, there are plenty of classy looking chrome rims out there.
  17. The rumor was any GX built after April 06 has the new driveshaft and lower control arm. Why would Lexus need further testing if the parts are already going into production lines?
  18. Just take out the 3rd row seats, thats why alot of people do. The rear AC that comes with the 3rd row seats are nice to have. The 3rd seat will also add re-sale value.
  19. I found this out on another forum, 2 people have confrimed this so far. They bought their GX in for the cluck and was told TSB is no longer valid, new fix is to lube the drive shaft. To me, thats just a temp. fix not a permenent one. If your Lexus is not already schedule, they will not apply the TSB. I guess Lexus did not expected such high demand for this TSB and they are rapidly running out of those parts. Perhaps they are greasing the drive shaft for now until production catch up, I don't know.
  20. With the lower EPA sulfur standard for gasoline, that surfur smell should be a thing of the pass pretty soon.
  21. If you haven't fixed the cluck yet, you are too late. Lexus just cancel the TSB. Instead of a permanent fix, they decide it was cheaper to grease the drive shaft every 3 months. Very un-Lexus like decision.
  22. Good info, thanks dcfish. But I dont see the GX470 on the list, I wonder if its the same as the LS.
  23. I have never done it, but from what I have read on this forum is that the key from e-bay comes in blank with the remote buttons for the doors. You have to cut it yourself. The programming instruction will program the immobilizer and the door buttons. From what I understand, you can do it yourself. It is a series of putting the old key in and push some buttons and inserting the new key. Sorry I cant be more helpful, good luck.
  24. Check your seals on your rear diff. gear box.
