Fuel mileage on the 05 GX went up to 19 highway from 18 mpg and you still can use 87 octane if you like. Also the big improvement is the VVT-i which adds 35hp and 10 lb. ft. of torque to the engine which you would notice right away.

Torque is what gets you out of the hole. Horsepower gets you through the quarter mile.

Not all are rated lower. The 06 Honda Accord V6 is rated 4 hp higher than the 05 model.

Thanks for the photo, but I don't see anything like that under the hood of my 05 GX470.

Looks like they all do this since I just tried out another 05 GX and an 05 4runner which have the same mirror glass. I wonder why they make it this way? I guess I'll have to get used to the distorted image.

There isn't a DRL fuse in either of the fuse panels.

I have an 05 GX with the ML system. I live about and hour and a half from New Rochelle. What would it cost for installation of the vais unit? Thanks

The info on that site is for vehicles up to 2000. I'm sure the electrical wiring has changed since then on Lexus vehicles.

On the 05 GX470, the dealer can turn the DRL's off with their computer. So I guess I'll have to wait and have them do it. It's not listed on the LPS (Lexus Personalized Settings) check off list, but the dealer can turn them off.

Is there an easy way to disable the DRL's(daytime running lights)? I believe the dealer can shut them off via the LPS, but I would rather do it myself.

The drivers side outside rearview mirror on my 05 GX makes images in the mirror appear wider than they really are, ie. it makes vehicles look like they were flattened by something. Anyone else notice anything like this?
