So, im sick of the yellow foglights. I've decided to go with sylvania silverstars, my manual says they are 55 watt. so 55 watt halogens should work? Also, will i have to change the housing at all? Thanks

I have a 94 es, so my ES300 emblem is on my right tail light. I want to remove it and get a newer looking emblem and place it above the tail light like the 96 model. Should i apply heat to it to get it off? and what should i use to put the new emblem on?

1. The Guy IS A mechanic. Would you rather me say his name? I bought it from him personally, not through his dealership. 2. I did a carfax, he owns a dealership so he never put it in his name he just put temp tags on it etc. Nothing was reported. 3. You assume that i haven't filed any reports, or contacted my lawyer, and that i have no idea what to do. If you want to treat me like that, then keep your own input to yourself. I'd appreciate it.

Sad news. The Mechanic i just went to (one i can trust) told me to sell the car. It apparently was in a very bad accident. We are reporting the mechanic who i bought it from, most likely taking him to court. I hope to get another lexus. Its a sad day. :(

Sorry i haven't gotten back to you. After more frustration from this lazy mechanic.(ill get to it). We went to the police station, they went to his house and told him he had 36 hours to get the car back to us. I got the car last night. It was rainy and during the night so i had no time to inspect. Heres a list of what was being done and what i asked to get done. What I Asked to Get Done 1. Fix the gasket leak. 2. Fix the airbag, horn, airbag module. 3. Fix the trunk button 4. Fix the ODO. What he "did" (he said over the course of a month) 1. Installed new brakes, callipers, etc 2. Replaced the dash 3. Painted the hood This is what he actually did. 1. Fixed the gasket leak. 2. Replaced the steering wheel pad.(with a used one) 3. Brakes The horn is rigged to a button, and there is loose wires near my gas pedal. He didnt paint the hood, fix the trunk button, odo, airbag, and i look in my backseat. And theres a new dash, not installed, just sitting there. He did absolutely nothing over a course of a month but put 2,000 miles on my car. GRRR. What the was he doing?!?!

The mechanic who i bought my car from, agreed to fix everything that was wrong with it (apparently alot) free of charge because he guaranteed inspection. He has had it for almost a month. Everytime i call theres always something else. Everytime we agree that i'll pick it up one day, something else is wrong. Last night, i call to go pick it up, and he says he's going to drop it off to me. And what do you know, he doesn't come. I call today and his wife states that he's in the hospital. This guy is full of excuses every time i speak to him. He supposedly put new brakes on, painted my hood, replaced the gaskets, replaced the steering wheel pad, new airbag, fixed the cpu that messed up my odo. I am this close ( ) to reporting it stolen. What do you think? GRR

I dunno why im reviving this topic after over a year, but how do you think a chrome grill would look on my es? I might go to this auto import parts place this weekend to check them out. any thoughts?

I want to get Lexus alloy wheels that come on some of the earlier ES models. I checked lexus-parts.com but $375 per wheel? that is ridiculous! Any help?

Geeze. steviej: When the timing belt was put on it supposedly somehow shorted out the digital odo. It only read TRIP A, when it didnt work. Then it changed to 183,000 miles. Which he says is incorrect.

The mechanic was the owner of the car since 2000. Other than that there was only 1 other owner. The mechanic who i bought it from (used to be the owner) never registered it because he owns a dealership. He just put temp tags on it, instead of paying insurance. Anyway im thinking the 77,000 miles was put on before the mechanic got the car. Hes very nice but i dont know him that well. I was just wondering, the car runs great (obviously) so i'll just take his word for it.

Im not stupid lexusfreak, i ran a carfax before i bought it. it had 77,000 miles in 2000. the timing belt was just changed not even a month ago.same with an oil change. i know that the belts go at around 70,000 miles.

When i bought my 94 lexus es, the odometer wasn't working. The person who i bought it from was a mechanic, and he promised me there was only around 90,000 miles on it, and he'd fix it next time we brought the car to him. About 2 weeks later, the odometer somehow worked and read 183,000 miles (ouch). we called him and he was irate, saying it was B.S. We brought the car to him, and free of charge he fixed the computer deal in it, saying that was the problem, the gasket leak, replaced my steering wheel pad (he took one off of another lexus to put it on mine, he owns a dealership also) all free of charge. The odometer now reads 92,000 miles and he claims and promises to god that it was a computer malfunction. Now i have to get the title mileage changed. Should i believe him? Hes a really nice guy, but im not sure.

Now i'm torn. the gray is out because i just realized thanks to lexusfreak, it doesn't match my interior. black seems like an okay color but will it look okay without the two tone styling?. any other ideas?

Im not sure of what to get im getting rid of the two-tone styling. Im thinking of a medium-dark gray metallic. any suggestions?

After about 3 minutes of driving smoke comes from the top center facing the windshield. Im engine retarded so im not sure where its coming from. It smells like a burning smell. The fact that its barely driven (about once a week) may have something to do with it. I think it only happens when i turn on my air. Not sure. Any thoughts? Your help is appreciated.

They were clear when i bought it, lextasy.com has the clear headlights for your 95 ls400. and SKPerformance, since you have a 94 es also. i'd appreciate it if you could i/m me to help me out with a few things since i can't PM someone on this board. my aim screen name is EastonHockey97. thanks
