  1. I have no idea why i came across this forum again but i was looking around so i thought i'd post. haha. A couple years ago I bought a 94 ES with 180,000 miles on it for 2,500. It was a complete piece of crap, but looked alright. Got rid of it, been modding the crap out of a 2000 Mustang GT.
  2. Well i sold my 94 ES finally, guess how much i got for it? Not much, only around 2 grand. I decided to buy a 2000 Mustang GT, with only around 50k, 89k left on warranty. Sorry to depart from the Lexus family but i needed something for the weekends :-P
  3. how about When you have the worst day ever, and you get into your Lex and it makes it even worse. Maybe that just applies for mine..haha.
  4. A magnetic ballast which is used to as an inductor for HID lighting is shifted out of phase with the voltage, which causes poor power factor, but a capacitor usually solves this problem. So maybe faulty capacitor? Also the circuit could just be cycling. It could be so old that the voltage has exceeded the amount provided by the ballast. I would try removing the power, and then reconnecting.
  5. The code for the check engine like would be for excessive flow. I replaced the PCV valve, did a pressure test, my radiator was completely cracked and rusted, i had a new radiator put in, it runs like it did a couple days ago now.
  6. Yeah i took it to a repair shop. Hes getting a pressure test done to find out where the leak is. The PCV was also shot i noticed. Probably would explain my check engine light :-P.
  7. I drove the Lexus last night and it was fine. I drive it this morning and it overheats. It was all the way up to H and i had to creep into a parking lot. My coolant was boiling. It was extremely cold last night, around 20 degrees. Maybe less. Is my thermostat frozen? Broken? Any ideas? I read some previous posts but i'm not sure on what to do exactly. I've had this car for over a year now with no problems. The fact that it has 192k on it might be a problem. :-p
  8. Yeah my 94 ES has 192k on it and i haven't really put any money into it except for rear valve cover gaskets and a new EGR valve in the 1 1/2 years i've had it. My last oil change was in July and since i've driven around 6,000 miles and its still full/tea colored.
  9. Mine is beyond a lemon. I barely drive it but alot of things don't work, that i'm too lazy to fix. ;-)
  10. Hahaha, I'm actually around 18 years old and i prefer the ES over the IS, so i agree. I either like cars that are really fast, or cars that are really nice. Nothing in between.
  11. Well the question is, which would you rather have?
  12. If you can make it financially, i say do it. You aren't gunna live forever. As for color, i'm not a fan of white cars, i'm more of a dark color person.
  13. I found it interesting. I'd like to see the pictures of the tail lights.
  14. lol i did the same thing when i first got mine. It started beeping and im like hmm, but my first instinct was to check all the windows, doors, sunroof etc. My 05 Altima doesn't tell you if you left it open and the 94 Lexus does. hmm.
  15. I personally love the Infiniti G35 coupes. The styling is great and the inside is beautiful. Thinking about trading in both cars for one..:-P
  16. 1. The timing belt needs to replaced at around the 90,000 mile mark, along with the water pump. 2. They are pretty fast despite only having 188 HP. I don't think i've lost a race against a car with similar horsepower. 3. The Lexus Premium Sound System is a good sound system, better than most. 4. Leaky valve cover gaskets! 5. I'd go with the reliability factor. I've seen Lexus' cars with over 250,000 miles and still running strong. Your getting a 11-12 year old car that was only driven at an average of around 7,000 a year!
  17. I'm glad i searched this topic. The "BRAKE" light has been on, (right next to the check engine light ugh). It seems to go off when i hit a bump or recently I put the car in neutral as i was moving and slammed the brakes. But shortly after it comes back on. I'm trading the car in maybe this Saturday so i need to get it off. I also have a check engine light, anyway to get that light off for the time being? I can't afford to fix the car to actually get the light off at the moment. I've done things to try and get it off like a new EGR valve and such for the code "Excessive Flow", but no success. Any help?
  18. mine would be 1. 2007 Aston Martin DB9 2. 2007 Chevy Avalanche (I don't know why, the new ones are so frickin awesome) 3. Jessica Simpson 4. Jessica Simpson
  19. The Is300 is a 3.0 Litre engine. The Is330 is a 3.3 litre engine. Get it?
  20. It seems more trouble than its worth. Good luck though. Toysrme is a mechanical genius!
  21. Does the sound still go off when your car is in park? :whistles:
