  1. i think.. PIMPIN!!! (Due to the fact that I'm driving a sixty thousand dollar car with plush leather seats, and clean interior combined with 420hp= driver gets laid)

uhh my bad, i guess we're not on the word Lexus anymore :blushing: ...... we're on ICY??

    I think of

    "Slippery"

  2. I've got a similar problem on my 1995 GS300, I unhooked the drivers side door "indicator" so i could have the door open and it wouldnt beep while listening to music. Key got in washamashine(thanks to wife) and the dealership said it would be 477.00 to replace a door latch? i have the new key from the dealership, they said they just can't program it cause of the latch being disabled????, can i just take the latch sensor off another door and then program it?, becausethe remote locks & unlocks fine without the latch "sensor" on the driver side door ,you just need that to "program a new key".

    Any ideas very appreciated!!! :P

    PEACE!!!

  3. Anybody installed Cams in their GS?? I want to do it myself but i dont know if i can find the time, how much is a fair price to pay to get them installed?

ps. I dont suppose there is a guide online, i was just going to use the AllDATA software to guide me.

    THANKS!! B)

  4. Is it worth 650 bucks for stage 2 Crower 264 Cams?

Anyone used these cams or know where to get them cheaper or are there better stage 1/2 cams out there for the money?

    some specs on them:

    CAMSHAFTS - STAGE 2 (Toyota/Lexus IS300/GS300/Altezza - 2JZGE)

Camshafts designed for Stage 2 applications. Slight lope at idle, does not require aftermarket valve spring. Mild tuning recommended. Plug and play application. Short duration for nice street manners, slight lope at idle. Excellent all purpose spec. OEM spring OK.

    Part Number: BC0311

    Adv/Dur: 264°/264°

    THANKS!!!

  5. Transmissions don't cause misfires. It sounds to me like you have a bad ignition wire or two. Remove them and inspect for cross-firing, and if some are bad, replace with a factory set.

You may also have a weak ignition coil. Best idea would be to have the ignition analyzed on a 'scope.

I've got a 95 gs300 and I'm looking at spending 250 bucks on some new MAGNECOR KV85 8.5MM SPARK PLUG WIRES. anybody know if these are just a waste or what? i dont have anything done to the motor but i plan on upgrading things soon(ignition and cams, exhaust)

should i get these or just the basic stock ones?

Basic stock ones. the 8.5 only relates to the total diameter of the insulation, not any other part of the wire. There are 8.8's made by Accel for hot rods but they run 60KV coils and arcing is a problem. Just go with OEM rated ones and save your money.

    B) Thanks for the advice, im going to try new plug wires next, i just flushed the tranny and it still hesitates sometimes. what's a good aftermarket ignition coil to buy and where?

    THX!!!

  6. B) Hey guys!

I've got a 95 GS300, only mods are tanabe DF springs and K&N.

and 2 amps 150watt for the stock sub and a 400watt for the other speakers.

I'm 2nd owner, bought it in TX for 4,000. It currently has 218k miles.

I've replaced the alternator one 2x since there is a lil oil leak that drips on it, but i replaced it about 6mo ago.

I just got a quick question about the RDI fuse, its for the radiator obviously and iits blown, like melted the plastic housing pretty bad. Anyone had problems with this before? I did research and shouhd i check the coolant temp sensor since it controls the radiator fan??

:blushing: I think this is related, since the coolant temp switch and AC high pressure switch control the relay. When i have the AC on, and floor it, SOMETIMES, the AC light blinks and doesnt work. but a few min later it works....

BTW i drive her HARD, like over 130mph daily to work, but i do let her warm up slowly and use good gas etc ;)

Any advice is appreciated, i tried to search RDI fuse here but the retarded search makes u search over 4 charachters....

    cheers!!!

  7. just a random update on mileage...i just got back from a trip to atlanta and i got 24.5 mpg (i was doing about 75-80 most of the time, not counting the 30 min in stop and go traffic) how does this compare to other highway mpg's?

    thanks

ya I get about 24ish with AC on, i removed spare tire, and have the K&n filter, new iridium plugs, cut off the heatshields for headers and removed the stock amp from the back. i'm kind of extreme when it comes to weight. no change, no mats, just me! :D

just cut off whatever u dont need with a grinder! lol

  9. It spputters when i accelerate from a stop or when i try to pass and accelerate but not when I'm just cruzing.

Hmmm, mine never does it when trying to pass. I talked with a transmission guy and he said there might not be enough fluid or it might need to be flushed. The autozone guy said to replace a transmission fluid filter on bottom? it was like 45 bucks. i'm going to flush mine and replace that filter and hopefully that will help.
