oh man, why didn't u goto a word of mouth mechanic?....u seriously should consider getting a tank of gas and burning their shop down....nono just kiding lol.....seriously never leave your car at a mechanic, you have to babysit them..

Update! Okay its the middle of october and my tranny is still going strong..yes this is the same one i was talking about in july...i dont know what happended....magic? Anyway it accelerates, downshifts and runs beautifully..... the only problem is shifting from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, if i accerate somewhat hard and expect it to shift above 3000 rpms, there is a slight delay in shifting......its ever so slight that only the owner of the car would notice (me). anything below 3000 rpm it shifts harder, more precise.... comment? max

ok so i started my car this morning to goto school.....after about 10 seconds the oil light came on (i was still in park) i shut the engine off immediately and checked the oil. it was on the LOW line wtf......anyway i added about half a qart in their, check the oil again it seemed more or less normal level. I started the engine the light didn't come on. THen i wen tto school........ someone explain please? I checked and theres no leak and the engine doesn't seem to be burning it. suggestions?

nah i have the same thing after i haven't driven for a while. i live near the ocean so the humidity leaves a thin film of rust on the rotors. so the first couple of times i brake i hear a grinding sound, then it comes off and its fine.

i live in brooklyn and i dont have a driveway/garage to work on my car....plus i dont have the tolls so its difficult......so u wanna fix my car ill pay you hahhaha nahhh, i was driving around today and i can feel slipping in all gears now. i feel less aceleration, and strange shifting patterns, im guessing this thing is on its way out....

i may have too much fluid....looks like its way above the full line.....weird, the guy at the place that did it said it was fine

ahhh more problems with this lexus..... ok so, i pulled out of the driveway the other day and my tranny jerked in reverse went a couple of feet and stoped i was like hmmmm....maybe i hit something behind me......i put in in D and stepped on the gas the engine reved but the car was hardly moving. it was almost like i was driving a manual and riding the clutch. like when you dont let go all the way...thats how it felt like. but when it got to second and third and fourth it was fine...... i donno wtf is the matter this problem goes in and out......does it have to do with the fact that i did a flush a month ago and the fluid was black when i flushed it?.....anyway nothing is leaking or burning, the fluid level is fine but this damn 1st gear is annoying me.....btw reverse worked after that the whole time. and it seems to be only doing that after i go on the highway for more than 5 minutes......on the street it works most of the time....

ok so i went toa reliable mechanic.......it was the water pump ....can u beeleive that? anyway while he was there he changes timing, tensioner, and 2 holding thingies i forgot what their called.......$400.....pfffttt....and you guys said valves...

so maybe not the vlaves? okay first thing int he morning im going

bought the car with 105k on the dash, on title says 172,126 back in october 2002. i would have to say this car is well over 200k. ...... new rack pinion, head gaskets changed(old owner) front right tire balance problems as of now: -oil leak somwhere very minor.. -ticking of the valves? when i bought the car my mechanic told me that this car went to hell and back when it comes to maintanance and overall care. ......we shall see.

ok its getting worse and when i say worse its all the time now.......gets louder and faster as i rev the engine...i dont like this.......opinions?

yep just what it says.........i was changing it and the upper part of it was so old it ripped off and the bottom part fell in there and i cant seem to get it out or find it......big deal? anyway i installed the new one and the car is flying, so much faster, acceleration, idling wow what a difference

ok i have a picture of where its coming from.....btw today the sound is significantly less......i donno when i changed the oil they suggested prolong so i put that in there. maybe its working?

ok i did and the noise is coming just to the right of where the timing belt "holder thing" is.....the sound is getting worse.....it sounds like if you put a plastic pen in a house fan. like in and out.

hmm...if i do decide to leave it alone, how long can this last me?
