  1. you know if it will work for the 06 gs?
  2. haha, well said 06gs430....this mod is definately worth doing, even if you dont plan on watching movies while you drive, you'll be glad you have it if the need ever arises. also, this mod releases all the safety features for the phone features. so those of you that use the bluetooth feature will benefit from this mod. It really isn't that hard to do, even if you are a novice. i'm sure 06gs430 will be able to tell you that its really quite simple to do this mod....spend the $150 on something else for your car!
  3. Is it possible to do the remote start with an 06 GS300? and still use the same key fob we have?
  4. Autosound Specialists 13749 Beach Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683 (714) 891-8779 Call for appointments Steve or Max
  5. I wanted to change out the exhaust on my car but dont know which one to go with and what kinda prices i'm looking at? Has anyone done their 2006 GS? please let me know which ones you got, how you like them, and are they noticeable? sound? everything woudl be appreciated.
  6. i'm glad it worked!! you had me worried for a minute! enjoy and be safe!!
  7. hey i'm still sorry to hear that its not working properly in your car....everything still works in my car, the phone button, the nav buttons, flipping to audio/climate whatever...basically it works the same exact way it did before but now it plays dvds while i'm driving... please let me know if you end up getting everything fixed... can you take a pic of the wires you cut??? maybe i might be able to advise you through pics....feel free to PM me if you want...
  8. hey i'm sorry to hear that your having a problem. however, i'm not the one that came up with the directions so i hope your not upset with me. all i can tell you is that i did it on my car and everythign works perfect. i even shot a movie to prove it but its 6megs big and it wont let me post it. again, i'm sorry it didn't work for you, all i can think is that you cut the wrong wires...put everything back to how it was and try again.... PRINT the directions out and keep them in the car with you....those pics are your best friend when your cutting them....
  9. WHY in the world would you want to put anything but premium in your GS. I also drive a 2006 300 and have never put anything but premium in her since the day i picked her up.
  10. So has anyone done this mod yet??
  11. I got the springs from a local racing shop here...they mainly deal with hondas and stuff but got me the tanabe springs from a distributor in CA. the wheels are Helo Dragsters 20" with 245/35/20 tires. i'm not sure what the offset is, but i'm experiencing no rubbing, even when i have four people in the car. and no i dont have the pressure sensors in the new wheels...maybe i should have them put in..
  12. 20" custom painted rims (blue onyx pearl) Tanabe NF210 springs installed What do you guys think?
  13. Hey guys, Like I said, I wasn't the one that came up with this mod. BUT, i did try it VERY slowly and carefully! In all honesty, the mod might seem difficult but the directions and pictures really help....i printed them out in color and had them in the car when i was doing everything..... ALSO, be careful to leave enough room on each side of the wire when your cutting and MAKE SURE that all the wires you cut are TAPED or CRIMPED or something. The last thing you want is an electrical fire in the back of you navigation screen!!@ GOOD LUCK to all those that try this mod.
  14. You will need a small flat head screw driver, a phillip head screw driver, a 10mm socket and a towel to protect the navigation unit. First, remove the plastic trim underneath the nav( just right above the ashtray) by pry it out with a small flat head screw driver. Hint: Tape the screw driver with Scotch tape to protect the finish of the trim. Second, put the shifter into "D" position. DO NOT START THE CAR. Just press the start buttom twice( foot of brake pedal at this time) and put the shifter to " D" or you can remove the shift lock tab and press the buttom, so you can move the shifter to " D" Unscrew the shifter and pry up on the center console. Third, remove the phillip head screw on each side of the side cover and the pry out. Gently remove both covers. After that you will see 4 10mm bolts( 2 on each side). Remove those bolts from the nav screen bracket and remove the nav unit. If you look under the nav unit you will find a piece of metal bracket on each side to grab onto and pull it out. Do not pry on the side of the Nav unit or try to remove the AC vent. One more. Oh, the AC vent is part of the dash. If you attemt ot remove it... you will have yourself a new dash. ***************ACTUAL WIRE CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS There are three white plugs going into the monitor. We will not touch the middle one. On the far left, closest to driver's side, is 26-pin plug K46. On the far right, closest to passenger side, is 32-pin plug h1. On K46, pin # 14 is purple. It is the VSS wire coming in from the BCM to the monitor. Leave a couple of inches on the plug and cut it. On K46, pin # 23 is yellow. It is the Parking Brake wire that tells the monitor if the parking brake is engaged. Leave a couple of inches on the plug and cut it. On h1, pin # 13 is pink. It is the VSS wire that leads out to the navigation unit. Leave a couple of inches on the plug and cut it. The monitor side of the purple wire will be left disconnected. Tape it up or preferably crimp it w/a 3M cap. The wireloom side of the yellow wire will be left disconnected. Tape it up or preferably crimp it w/a 3M cap. The monitor side of the pink wire will be left disconnected. Tape it up or preferably crimp it w/a 3M cap. Use a ring terminal and an 18 awg wire to connect the monitor side of the yellow wire to chassis ground. There's plenty of grounding locations available along the side, where the monitor mounts. Screw or bolt it in securely w/o interfering w/mounting area. Use butt connectors or tape and solder an 18 awg wire to connect the wireloom side of the purple wire to the wireloom side of the pink wire. You are effectively re-routing the VSS signal directly into the navigation. Reinstall the monitor and you are finished Top down view of back of nav closet to driver side closet to passenger side BTW: I did not come up with this mod. I just happened to find it on another Lexus forum. So do it at your own risk! I did it on mine and everything is fine.
  15. Hoodlum mobile?!?! Its not like we're putting 14" 100-spoke gold rims on the car that stick out a foot from the fender...THAT would make it a hoodlum mobile! The reason I put rims on my vehicles is to make them different from all the other GS's on the road.
  16. if you open up the compartment where those switches are hidden to adjust the side mirrors, you can deselect the mirror light. right now there should be one light on either the Left or Right side....whichever side is lit just hit that button again to deselect the light so neither light is lit. this should prevent the mirrors from adjusting down when u go in reverse.
  17. Although I dont recommend watching dvds while driving, its definately nice to have if you have kids or even to entertain your friends, girlfriend, wife, etc... Its an easy fix that you can do yourself (I did it on my car in about 2 hours and that was going slow to ensure that I didn't F anything up!) The guy that figured it out is located in Southern Cali and has a shop out there, so those of you that live out there and dont want to do it yourselves, he charges $150. I'm at work right now, so I will post up the directions and the guys shop address/phone later when I get home. I just wanted to see how many people out there with the 2006 GS would be interested in doing this?? BTW: This procedure also bypasses the bluetooth lock, so you will be able to dial out from the screen while the car is in motion also.
  18. Does anyone know if Lexus is in the works to produce a minivan in the future?
  19. how much do u sell just the springs for shipped to AZ? thx
  20. hey blaqman, do you have the NF springs in stock? I will be out there Oct 7-10 and would love to get the springs installed while i'm out there. possibly that saturday Oct 8th? let me know.
  21. so that $600 includes the springs and installation?? thats a good price....i've only seen ONE 06 Gs430 here in AZ thats lowered and he told me that he got it done through a local lexus dealership and they charged him $1000, he also went with the 2" drop and looked insane... i'll have to drop by your shop next time i'm out there.... is your shop anywhere near Mountain Ave and Foothill blvd?? my bro and i own a cigar lounge out there thats why i ask...
  22. to second NEO's question, what springs did you use?? also, where in rancho are you located?? my bro/sis-in-law live out there and i visit them quite often. maybe next time i'm out there i can get my car lowered too... how much do you charge? and how much was it lowered? 1" or 2"?
  23. hey i would love to see that "how-to" on lowering the gs. how much did it cost? i have 20"x8.5" on the front and back and they rub in the front when making sharp turns. so i'm a little confused on how these dont rub. also, how did you overcome the "low tire pressure" sensor warning?? thanks, and thats an AWESOME looking car!
  24. the front lights are stock...i only smoked out the back tail lights...
  25. yea, the arm rests just like the front.
