  1. the saran wrap...i had that too just pull it off. it protects the seats during shipping, its normal.. as far as the car not cranking, that is not normal. parking brake holds the car if its pushed all the way in. if its pushed half way in, the car still rolls. sometimes i back out of the driveway and then realize the parking brake is on. on automatic cars, parking brakes dont need to hold that well.

  2. lol i know man... i mean how to make them all unlock with a single click. lol. someone said its on page 28 of the manual. but i dont have it.

On your key fob, push the "LOCK" button together with the "UNLOCK", "TRUNK" or "PANIC" button for about 5 seconds with the engine switch off. As you do this, look at the multi-information display in the dashboard. It will show you which setting you have selected. It will change from Unlocking the Drivers door, to Unlocking the side doors, to Unlocking a single door, to Unlocking all doors. (The icon will be a car with 4 doors open).

I hope that helps you out.

    Duckman

duckman you are a champion. thank you so much.

  3. im pretty sure the dealer will wanna stay out of the mess. you need to get a car-computer ninja hacker to suck out that info for you. besides, i honestly believe the insurance company will reject the evidence anyway. stuff like that is still ahead of its time. ur best bet is to sue the guy who was driving your car. what did you mean by "possibly by a garage attendant"? im curious to hear the whole story. was it being valeted or what?

  4. you are of course entitled to your opinion, but i have to disagree with you. the color is quartz shadow metallic, its not grandpaish at all. its sort of dark blue/charcoal in the shade, but it looks purple under direct sun. and the rims cost $5000. they are not cheap, they're Asantis. but like i said, you are entitled to your opinion so im not going to argue with you.

  5. That is one nice looking ride! What about your tire pressure monitoring sensors? Did you still have them on?

thanks and YES! They fit on any wheel from what ive been told. i had no idea what they were or what they looked like until i saw it up close. it basically attaches to the nozzle that you use to fill air in your tires, through the inside.

    looks like this.

  6. What tires are you running ? How's the ride and is there any rubbing ?It doesn't look lowered, Is it ?

isn't lowered....YET. im looking into tanabe's. it doesn't rub at all, unless im making a very sharp turn at a very very crawlingly low speed. like a u-turn in a parking structure for example. the tires are as follows:

i saved the stickers from the tires and stuck em on a piece of paper for future use.

im really happy with them. handles well and rides relatively smooth for 20 inch rims.

im dying to drop it though. its begging me each time i turn it on.

  7. if your dealer has no idea, im guessing your only other bet is to try other dealers. i checked on ebay for you, and they only sell the whole stereo unit. Not the knobs alone. I highly doubt you're willing to spend 100+ just for knobs. you might as well change the whole thing.

also try your local lexus/toyota junk yard.

many cars that go to the junk yard are there because they are physically destroyed.

often times the stereo equipment (especially the KNOBS) are intact.

IMO, this would be the place to get the best deal.

  8. I've read on some other members' posts about a motion override code for the nav system. Does anyone know the code or where I can find it. I have an '06 GS 430. Thanks.

I have an 06 GS 430. My GPS Version is 5.03.05. I tried the procedure you outlined but it did not work for me. I did get the screens you described to come up but I still need to have my parking brake on to see DVD's. Was this meant for older versions of the software? Thanks for the help!

this wont bypass the DVD watching safety. just the choice to enter addresses while the car is moving, and view things in your music player.

for what you want, it needs to be phsycially modded.

if you live near the los angeles area, ive done the mod on my car as well as 6 or 7 others. $150 it takes about an hour.

  9. I must need to have my car serviced, because I've tried several times to change the setting to "off" for having the screen go automatically to the maps. It looks like it should be a very simple thing to do yet it doesn't work for me. Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

i will do it on my car and tell you the exact steps to get it to work. give me a few hours to get my eyes open its still too early.

  10. click menu

    then volume

    on that volume screen

tap the top left corner of screen

then bottomn left corner of screen

then again top left corner of screen

then again bottomn left corner of the screen.

you will be presented with a screen.

    hold down the button OVERRIDE

until it beeps. it should take about 3 seconds.

once that is done, back out of there pressing back, or exit or whatever

    and the trick is complete.

you can now use ur system to its full potential.
