  1. 06 GS430, not lowered....

i did a rims swap with a buddy, just for kicks, and now i have no problems with scraping, however the rims dont stick out anymore like they did before (i kind of liked that look, call me ghetto....) im planning on re-swapping to my originals, then selling them to get some sweet !Removed! HRE's, this time measured to fit ;-)

scroll up the posts to see how my car looked with the old rims, any thoughts? which rims looked nicer? thanks.

  2. I have an 06 GS. There's a menu option where you press i believe menu, then maintenance. In the maintenance menu there's a TON of other buttons to push, when u push them it says how many more miles until that specific maintenance should be done. However, when you select any of them, the miles left and date is blank. Do they honestly expect us to sit down and manually input this information for EVERYTHING? (oil change, brake change..so on) Or, is this something the dealer does when you take it in for your first maintenance? Does anyone know what im talking about? Im not really sure how else to explain it.

  3. Here's my Quartz Shadow Metallic GS430

It hasn't been lowered, but has 20" Armano Hampton rims.

As you can see the front has a lot of room for a drop, but the back is pretty much skin tight. It SCRAPES HORRIBLY everywhere i go. Even the smallest driveway. Whats really scraping is rubber on a metal strip inside the wheel well. The tire is being shaved away like butter. I cant have more than 2 passengers at a time, its really quite horrible. I dont know why they made the car this way. Automobile manufacturers aren't stupid, they know we mod our cars and put rims. How come the BMW 645 can fit 22's but my lexus barely fits 20's. Not fair :-(

  4. 2006 Quartz Shadow Metallic Lexus GS430.        20" Armano Hampton Rims with P-Zero Tires

hey 06gs430, i was wondering if you are having a "Low-tire pressure" warning light on your dash after you put the custom rims on? do u know of a way around this problem?

Sux having a $50k car with that stupid warning....you think lexus would have thought about people putting custom rims on these cars

i was worried about the same thing, however it isn't an issue for me, somehow the guys who put my rims on, managed to somehow fit the sensors into my rims. no problems so far, except for horrible scarping. the wheel rubs agains the wheel well. the tires are pretty much being carved. i dont know what to do.

  5. well my lease is coming to an end on my es and im looking for one of these three cars:

    Infiniti M45

    BMW 5 series

    Lexus GS430

my mind is set on the M45 because its got more bang for the buck. like road sensors that tell you when your driving out of your lane. It also has good acceleration and has good looks. while the bmw, well its a bmw. it looks good and has good stats but its a lil pricey. the base is 52k. and last but not least the GS 430 has the luxury. keyless entry, adaptive climate control, etc. if some one could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. correct me if im wrong but the base for GS is 45ish and the base for M is pretty much the same. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

honestly, the m has some stuff the gs doesn't have.......the gs has some stuff the m45 doesn't have. im obviously gonna say lexus is a better bet because i own one, but if you REALLY wanna break ur problem down into the simplest form, answer this questions:

would you rather drive a toyota, or a nissan?

    toyota=lexus nissan= infiniti

when i test drove the lexus, i dind't even wanna test drive the m45. basically in my mind i was thinking, there's no way anything could be better than this. im EXTREMELY happy with it.

  6. I have not had it done but I am certain you can have the Navigation system installed by a Lexus dealership, and the Camera, I believe would be a simple connection. I know on on aftermarket Navs you only require an interface for the nav which will aloow you to add all kinds of functions like use the screen for dvd's, backup cameras, etc.

if you have the camera and wiring installed, its as simple as taking it to your local car audio store. preferably a famoous one such as all and ed's auto sound ( a mom and pop shop may not know how to do it) all you'd need is an LCD screen, and they'd have it working in no time.

  7. im a 20 year old real estate agent. i sold my 2000 Ford Roush Stage 2 Mustang. I put the 15,000 i made off the stang as down. My payments are 633 a month. Its a lease. I did the math, after the lease is over, im only going to owe 10 on the car. with deprecciation, that should come down to like 5000. basically all i gotta do is pay 5000 and the car is mine. I actually am very happy with this deal. What do you guys think?

  8. i recently purchased a 2006 gs 430. while they are safety precautions, they tend to become a bit annoying. some examples:

if you are watching a dvd, when the car comes out of park, the video dissappears

several buttons on the touch screen become inoperable while the car is in motion

does anyone know how to disable these features? its great they care about my safety, but i payed 55K for a car that i control, not a nanny.
