  1. I was told if you stick with a Pioneer Deck, you will be able to use the factory CD changer since the pioneer parts are traditional wiring schema, has anyone tried that can verify/not?
  2. I have the goodyear assurance comfortred on my GS400, and I can't hear anything except wind noise most of the time. There are plenty of bad roads where i'm at :) Overall good tire, but I would definately want something for better performance considering this car. Should work likea charm for your LS
  3. I saw that too... I think they were replicas weren't they?? Too bad they're already sold ← My bad -- found it again, has 4 days left tho and still 500 small ones.

  5. I loooove the look of the new 06 gs430 machined alloys, not to be mistaken with the G-spider wheels. Apparently it is hard to get ahold of these bad boys. Does anyone know if they are made by a 3rd party vendor or lexus alone? I would like to see a pair of these on my 98 gs :) Any suggestions?
  6. HAH!! How funny is that. I had an 89 camry, and Just I mean Just within a few weeks ago purchased my first 98 gs400. I looove it to death. I miss the Camry (sentiments and gas cost) but I really enjoy the GS, it's sooo smooth you can't compare the difference.
  7. I took my new Lex to the dealership to replace the front pads, and they told me the rotors need to be turned. First bad decision was paying 70 for the front oem pads. They wanted 160 for labor. That was completely ridiculous. I found a local tire store that comes highly recommended and he only chared 70. Big diffy eh? Lesson learned - there is always a better shop that will do it cheaper. Make sure it is someone you trust.
  8. Does the drop in K&N provide me with any more power until I can afford the SRT??? <_< I have a list of upgrades, and I will be doing suspension and wheels first, along with the steering ECU, mostly because the 300hp is niice as is, but any additions certainly help...
  9. you are referring to the k&n stock 'high flow filter', correct? There is the k&N cold air intake, and the high flow filter that drops right into the stock setup...
  10. I should also add this is the first upgrade I will be considering on my car are there other upgrades that would benifit me more cost/performance wise before doing the cold air. Shocks/struts are still too expensive at this time. My next upgrade after the cold air will be the steering ECU.
  11. I just recently purchased a 98 GS400, and I am debating on putting in a cold air intake. I was looking at the SRT High flow intake, it also comes with an ECU Chip I believe. What I wanted to get was the K&N because it is 300 dollars less. I was also reading in the ES forums and they were saying that the ES comes stock with a cold air intake, is this true for the GS and if so, what difference other then noise will I notice after putting in this new upgrade? Can anyone tell me what kind of performance difference I will get vs stock. 1. Power curve 2. responsiveness Also, will my engine check light come on if I install the K&N without the replacement chip? Those who have done this mod, please input here with suggestions you wish you would have done/not done, etc. Thanks all for your inpuit :D
  12. Of course the cars coming to CA would be just a tad less "snappy" due to stricter emission control (that is still true, right ?). Even so, it's an awsome combination of performance and economy, at any price. Reliability remains a question mark, however; anybody know how the Prius stands in this regard ? ← I do not believe so. The hybrod v-6 accord has the same nationwide emissions. I would assume the engine would remain the same.
  13. I actually chose the e-shift when making my purchase over the 430. It's 5.7 time makes it nicer then a 6 -- The eshift comes in handy when going around those tight turns and maintaining the higher rpms... I love the instant power rather then having the engine lunge when doing some sporty driving :D
  14. **update** Let me clarify, after reading some posts it's called the engine shroud. Does anyone know where I can find clips and/or screws for it, if they have been broken from the technicians performing my oil change?
  15. I just recently purchased a 98 gs400 and noticed after going to the dealership for an oil change that a few screws were missing which fasten the underbody cover. Does anyone know where I can purchase an underbody cover, or screws to hold my existing one up. I'm not sure if this is what it is called, but it's the plastic piece protecting the transmission, engine, and oil tank underneath the car. Will it hurt the car to leave this piece hanging near the left suspension arm?
