Are there any LED replacement bulbs for the cluster that light up the speedo, tach , temp and fuel guages ? I replaced the D bulb but those i just mentioned seem to be in a metal bulb housing .

if you remove the center console trim ,it just pulls off, the one that surounds the shifter and radio you can accses your shifter , not sure how to get to the bulbs.

yup. someone had changed it befor i bought the car. i do have a feeling that it is exhaust related.

That's the same crap with my car ...lol.. todaya was worse than any other day .. i wonder if the cold temp changes the viberation level ?

JerseyDan, havent had time to check the PS pump yet, let you know when.

JerseyDan- I had my car on a lift and put a prybar between the fron exhaust and the engine and pulled down.. the vibration went away.. you think the cats or some exhaust part is clogged or am i just putting so much preasure to actualy hold the motor from vibrating ? you ever had a ny exhaust work done ?

im gona try the same with my PS belt

JerseyDan........i just removed my alt. belt and ran the car and had the same issues, so i would rule out the alt.

i have the same symptoms as JerseyDan, it's something in the engine right by the timing belt covers that makes the whole car vibrate..... JerseyDan- my alt. is kinda noisy. i check the online manual to see if there are bearings available.

i tried recording the sound on my phone but just wasn't clear enough. picture if you sat in your car and you turned your bass all the way up and it was a constant buzz and vibration. for me it's at say on the tach right below 1000 rpms, im guessing it's 750 rpm that's where it vibrates ,anything above or below it stops.

JerseyDan, I tried turning my lights on and off and had the same thing just happen. My idle went down when i put my lights on and off. Hmmmmmm , i remember a mechanic tellin me that if a bering goes bad it could vibrate through the whole car at certain RPMs. im gona put my car on the lift tomorrow and check it out...

i use mobile 1 in my engine and axles. i always heard to never change all the oil in the trans just what ever drops with the pan and filter.

it did get a little worse after the belt change but every mechanic i spoke to said even if it was off 1 tooth a light would come on the dash . these computers are so sensative . NJerseyDan- one mechanic told me if one of the pulleys berrings.. ALT. PS pump.. is goin it will vibrate through the whole car at certain RPMs. have u checked yours.. mine is noisy. i'll check the EGR valve.

Thanks guys , i had a 99 rx300 and had the same problem and never figured it out. it drives me nuts..lol..NJerseyDan did u change your flex pipe yet. if so did it make that vibrate it more or less ? someone changed mine befor i bought the car and im wondering if its just not lined up right or not the right flex material.

ok, changed the selenoid for the front mount and no improvement , did the throttle body and idle cleaning but no improvement. I had it on a lift and put preasure on the front pipe by the mesh flex and it seemed to go away but the rest of the exhaust vibrates still. also if you listen to the exhaust coming out of the rear mufler it also sounds strange. i know it sounds funny to say it sounds strange but i worked on cars for 28 years and it just doesnt sound right. maybe something is clogged in the exhaust. also i had the dealer change the timming belt last may and there is a a sound comming from the plastic timing covers but almost like metal on metal rubbing together., maybe something in the timing belt area is giving me this vibration problem. Anyone know a good lexus mechanic in bergen county new jersey area ?

any idea what the problem was ?

I have a 2001 rx300 with the same noise , drives me crazy . did you ever find out what it was ?

just at idle or in gear when stationary , once i bring up the RPMs it stops or when i start moving it goes away.

lenore, that was the first one i checked and the flex pipe that i mentiond befor was replaced by a mesh type. I ordered the vacume celenoid that goes along with the fron mount . my next step is the rear mount....we shall see....

lenore- the flex pipe was replaced befor i bought the car but with a solid flex pipe not like the original one that looks like a mesh. i will check it out ,thanks. I did replace the fron engine mount , although the diaphram was collapsed it did not resolve the issue.

thanks steve, i bought a front motor mount. i'll let you know if that does it.
