  1. You might try ebay, they have a lot of parts available. Or a Lexus dealership. It would cost more there but probably not a real expensive part and you'd get it right away.
  2. It sounds like a fishing expedition, hoping someone bites.
  3. Keep in mind that loaner cars are driven by different people with different driving styles day in and day out. As you said IF they are maintained properly. They probably are, but I'd still be a little leery not knowing. On the other hand they are sold regularly so there probably isn't much to worry about since they have warranties.
  4. This probably varies by state, but here in Iowa, all of a dealers inventory, new and used, is classified in a category called, "Dealers Registry" until such time as the auto is sold. When I'm given a service loaner, they must put license plates on the car that say "Dealer", then a license plate number. Using these "Dealer" plates must also be used when driving a pre-owned car or a new car. When the car is sold, it then becomes registered to the new owner. Given this process, the car is never truly registered to anyone until it has a true owner and, the registration and license fees are paid, and the state gets it's taxes. As for Car Fax, If your car has never been sold before or registered to an individual, what would you expect to find? Paul, where do you live in Iowa? We lived in Cedar Rapids and Davenport (Quad Cities) before moving to the Chicago area.
  5. Not sure about the Car Fax question, but you can log on and register at lexus.com and see the service history of the car. You just plug in the VIN #.
  6. Very nice teaser commercial! It compliments the ad blitz on the new GS. I also like the one for the current gen ES that's running now, with the ES and competeing German cars on an elevator/lift kind of gizmo, which touts the standard features on an ES that you pay extra for on the others.
  7. My 2010 with prachment interior came with the darker carpeted mats. I like the contrast as well as the easier to keep clean factor.
  8. I was wondering if they'd hold the line on pricing on the new ES. There is a lot of competition out there so it might be in L's interest to keep pricing about the same. I think they did with the new GS, but that model really needed sales help where the ES has always sold well.
  9. Here are some pictures of the new Avalon which was unveiled at the NY Auto Show the day after the ES350. Toyota/Lexus is launching some nice looking cars. http://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/avalon/
  10. It sounds like you're ready to break open the checkbook come August??
  11. I wonder if they'll hold the line on pricing with the new ES? I think they did with the new GS, but that model needed a lot more sales help than the ES does.
  12. I like the high res photos. Good find! The new gen ES is very interesting. Even though there is a lot of competition out there in this segment, they won't have any problem selling a lot of them. I remember when the current gen came out in '06 they sold like hotcakes for the first 2-3 model years before settling into more normal sales #'s.
  13. I don't use anything other than the additives in the gas that I buy, and have never had a problem with dirty injectors. I'm not really brand loyal with gas but seem to use more BP since there is a station with competitive prices nearby. After starting out using premium or mid-grade unleaded in my 2007 ES350, I used regular the final 2+ years or so. Have used only regular in my 2010. I'm in the camp that it's a personal choice and you can't go wrong using either regular or premium.
  14. Yeah, I too am hoping the new ES looks better in person (or at least in some better pictures) than it does in the pictures that are out there now. So far, I'm not feeling the urge to run out and buy one. Some cars look better in pictures than in real life out on the street. Maybe this will be one of them that looks better in real life vs. pics. I hope so.
  15. New ES350 Guy, the tint looks good. I have a Starfire Pearl with 40% tint and even though it's 10% lighter than yours it looks just about the same. Very little difference. I really like the tint on the white car.
  16. I recently had the windows in the Lexus tinted (first time I've done it) and have been happy with the results. It looks very good IMO and it does a good job with glare and some privacy. 35% is legal here in Illinois, but I went with 40% for a couple of reasons (I'm a consevative guy). I was so pleased that I had our other car done too.
  17. That is odd that it would come on right at 50k. Maybe a serivce is due at 50k and this is a reminder? Might not hurt to look in your owners manual or call a dealer and ask them.
  18. Most reports say the average age of new ES350 buyers is around 60. It seems like the average is lower for pre-owned buyers.
  19. Same here. My wiindows are tinted and no problem with the TPMS. I had an AM radio interference problem on our other car with the same tint as the Lexus, but no problem with the Lexus.
  20. Sounds like you were talking about me (except the drive wheels part). :)
  21. AWD on the ES is not a big deal for me. When I bought my 2010 (had a 2007) I took a long look at LaCrosse, A4, G37x, RX and Q5 (all AWD) but went with another ES350. Even here in the snow belt, FWD with TRAC and VSC works for me. These days roads and streets get cleared off pretty quickly after a snow storm. Maybe my next car will be AWD, maybe not.
  22. Congrats on the new car. Pressing the "Disp" button on the steering wheel (it's on the right side of the wheel) will take you to that function. Each time you press it, it scrolls to another function and eventually the gas mileage functions will come up
  23. I bought an early build 2007 ES350 in late-April/early May of '06 and was wondering if rthe 2013 might follow that timetable. Might be too soon though?
  24. Does anyone know when the 2013 ES will be launched in the US? I've heard September but I think it was speculation.
