  1. You could try a local Toyota dealership. They generally will charge less then a Lexus dealership.
  2. First off I have a factory installed spoiler. As for aftermarket, I know Lund Industries makes a spoiler for the RX300. You can also go to www.exoticwooddash.com or www.spoilerdepot.com They both carry spoilers for the RX300.
  3. :o OK that surprises me that you don't seem to have a really noticable improvement from the stock Pioneers to the aaftermark Alpines. My stock Ford Explorer speakers I'd say were on par with our stock RX. But the change I made (mentioned in earlier post) yielded a phenomenal difference in quality. Even now when I listen to the stock RX sound vs my aftermarket, I can tell a huge difference. Ignoring the bass difference, the mids and highs are so much clearer and stronger with my aftermarket Boston's and MB Quarts. Perhaps your crossover settings need to be adjusted. Perhaps the tweeter position selected isn't ideal with the Alpine tweeters. Now were the Alpine tweeters just too large to fit in the stock tweeter location? Also what brand and model amp did you select again? Bigger isn't always better either, maybe a pair of Alpine 5.25"'s , like the SPX-137s would have fit better in the factory front door location.
  4. By garage, do you mean the garage in a house or parking structure garage? Are you sure the damage wasn't caused by physical impact or projectile damage of some kind? Maybe your car got vandalized.
  5. I would think most Lexus dealerships would sell some in their parts department. I know my dealership does.
  6. Let us know how your car sounds once you get the Alpines put in.
  7. Personally, I have never heard a stock factory or stock premium system, from any luxery auto maker, that was equal to a high quality, well installed after market system. Of course prices for standard and premium factory systems are generally far less expensive as well. More then likely, the speakers are just inexpensive paper cones. I find the current speakers, including the tweeters in our 03 RX300 to be quite unimpressive IMO. And as for a subwoofer, didn't really notice that there is one there. However, for a factory system, the Pioneer in the RX sounds good. It's defnitely far superior to the factory one in the Toyota that our Lexus replaced. Replacing your stock speakers should yield another noticable improvement in sound quality. As for the specific speaker choices, Alpine probable makes good speakers, but I have never been an enthusiast of their speakers. I do love their head units and amps though. I have an Explorer with an Alpine headunit, Alpine CD changer, Alpine MRV 4 channel amp powering Boston Accoustic Pro components, MB Quart coax's, and two Rockford Fosgate subs driven by a Fosgate Amp.
  8. Yes you can save money by programming a new key yourself. Here are steps to programming. The RX300, I believe falls under the last set of instructions. http://secure.ksinc.net/techtrain/User_9.htm You can go to this link and check pricing. http://www.lexus-parts.com/prodlist.asp?Su...ubCategoryID=22 You can read this link for more info. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=66669 Hope that helps.
  9. Most owners seem to like the Michellin Cross Terrains. Another well liked, but not really common tire to have on the RX300 is the Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs. It's got quite an aggresive tread pattern that made be more suitable for adverse conditions but may be a louder tire. Either should be much better then the factory OEM tires.
  10. Well how reliable has your current ride been? If it's been pretty much problem free then perhaps you don't need the extended warranty. But if, for whatever reasons, you have had a lot of warranty work so far, then you may want to extend your coverage. In general, an extended warranty is usually very profitable for the company selling it. Just take a look at extended warranties for computers, tvs, dvds, vcr's, etc. Salesmen make good commission for selling extended warranties. My wife and I have a 2003 RX300. If it were my choice, I would not have picked up the extended warranty, but because it's my wife's ride, she wanted the extended coverage. Basically she would rather pay for the extra peace of mind.
  11. We have a 2003 RX that we bought in March and it has no noticeable ticking noises of any kind.
  12. I have a 2003 RX300 that came with the standard headlights. I'd like to replace the standard lights with the factory HID lights. But I was told by a couple of dealers that if the car didn't ship from the factory with the factory HID headlights, the service departments either can't or aren't allowed to replace the standard lights with the HIDs. Appraently, only the Navigation equipped cars came with HID headlights. Anyone know if the lights can be replaced and if so, what parts would be needed? My understanding is that its not as simple as just replacing the bulbs or the headlight itself.
