  1. Took 1st test drive last Friday, noticed the new engine sound and love the Push-Start ignition button, pop out power mirror mutli-functional control pad is something new as well. Sweet !
  2. Happen to see 'ONE' at a local dealership (Longo Lexus, El Monte) when test driving the new 2006 GS (alreay sold 40+ with 20+ remaining for those who were on the waiting list with deposits down), it's the only one they just got so far for engineering testing only. Took a short 3 minutes ride from the bestment to ground level. Absolutely no engine sound or mechnical noise from the under ground parking. This one comes with a rear overhead DVD entertainment system, Sweetest. No wonder it's the first luxury SUV so far. Damn, i checked out everything of the vehicle, except the window MSRP sticker !
  3. So. Cal got some abnormal rains this season especailly during the past few weeks. Since New Year's day, measureable rain was doubled compared with what Seattle had so far. :chairshot: I first notice my front driver side headlamp has water dripping inside the lens about 3 days ago, alreday contacted local dealer and scheduled to get a replacement next week. Will keep you all updated, once repair is done. RX330 owners, check your headlamps and beware. <_<
  4. Data from 'cruise information display' are really for reference use only and it Probably didn't even reset correctly after last 'full' tank refill. Try to do a simply calculation on your next refill (below 1/4 of tank) by dividing read outs from your total milage from last refill (use your trip odometer, i.e. 300 miles) with actual total gallon of gas pumped, i.e. 15 gallons. See what happens then. Good luck. a.c.
  5. Our Japan built 05 RX330 does come with Michelin MXV4 235/55/18. ← Are you certain those are Michelin MXV4 and not "S8's" ?
  6. The 'FREE' loaner car is nice, not to mention the flat-bed service is awesome. You don't even have to go to the dealership wait in line to see your service advisor (average 15-30 minutes wait), and if you are lucky enough to get one scheduled over the weekend to do a get away weekend with free mileage and gas; what else could you ask for more ! I really don't mind paying higher service charges, because in retrun you are getting more than you've paid. Convenience, peace of mind and service warranty but please do make sure you put back the oil level dip stick back where you pull out from; dear master mechanics please............. a.c.
  7. dont bet on the work being done right. I have nothing but war stories from the Roseville Lexus dealership. Even to the point of unsafe maintenance after they were done. I have to have them put the car on the rack so I can inspect afterwards to see if everything, ie bolts to transmission, stabilizer bar, vacuum lines are hook up safely. I have had the timing belt and water pump done by Toyota and they did a great job at $490 versus $1200 at Lexus. Good luck. ← I agree, i just recently paid over $300 for a 15k mileage service at my local dealership "LONGO Lexus". Two weeks later, during a routine car wash i found the RED 'Transmission Oil level dipstick' sitting below the front windsheild and right next to the passenger side wiper. What the " " ! In the future, when i pick up the vehicle back from any service, i'll at least pop the hood and check underneath. You just can't trust anyone these days. a.c.
  8. Not sure if you've already purchased the vehicle yet, i'm in the Los Angles area and my local dealership (fleet/internet dept) is able to quote me a 2005 2WD RX330 with Premium Plus Package (w/o Heated Front Seats Options) for $34,900 + tax & Lic. just about 2 week ago. I hope this helps. a.c.
  9. How did you even obtain the 13.5 mpg data from ? Is it A) from the center dashboard 'cruise information display' or B) by actual calculation of odometer mileage vs. total gallon of gas pumped into the tank ? If it's B and that is scary low, you should have dealership check it out ASAP ! a.c.
  10. This probelm had happened to my RX330 twice, first tried to restart the ignition and let it run for a while and then unlock all doors before press and hold the power hatch button under the dash; it should work now.
  11. ← looks like the 1st edition will have the 300 engine. the 07 should have the 350 engine as thought. seems most of the 06's will ship with 18' run flat tires on the awd versions. all in all looks great and will fly out of the showroom. the interior is top notch ← How certain are you on the 350 for 2007, Perhaps; i should really wait for the GS350 ? Those 18' rims looks really nice on photo. tks... a.c.
  12. The 3th generation GS series will be introduced in the early spring of 2005. Any idea on the MSRP or early performance reviews and quality evaluation ? tks. a.c.
  13. steviej: You are a lifesaver, thank you for such thorough instruction. a.c.
  14. If the car is as good as you've mentioned, don't trade it in unless you need some quick cash and $$$ for the down payment. Get a For Sale sign and post it on the front side window and list with your cellular phone number (never home phone number), then park your for sale vehicle next to a busy street or shopping center parking lot. Screen all potential buyers and ask question before a meet them with a test drive. Last resort, you can always do Ebay. a.c.
  15. kh046: Tks for your advise. Error 3 and Error 4 are actually the SAME. I guess dealership won't do anything if you couldn't duplicate the problem. When you said they agreed to 'replace it', do you mean they actually replaced with a brand new audio system ? How long did you wait for the parts to arrive ? tks.. a.c.
  16. URGENT HELP ! My wife's 2004 RX330 CD player has ***ERROR 4*** flashing on the display, owner's manual shown "it indicates that there is a trouble inside the system. Eject the disc. IF THE MALFUNCTION IS NOT RECTIFIED: Take your vehicle to your Lexus dealer. When i press the eject button (as instructed above), the system then automatic changed to FM radio mode, does anyone ever encountered simliar problem ? Is there a simple way to RESET this error message or should i really take it to the dealer just for this ? Many tks.. a.c.
  17. StevieJ: Do you have any tips on how to change the headlight low beam bulb on the 2002 ES ? I got a pair of Sylvania Silverstar '9005' but couldn't find any instructions on replacing bulbs in the owner's manual, also i not even sure if 9005 is the correct part no. for the low beam; is it something like a H7 or H6 ? Please advise... tks.. a.c.
  18. Vicki: Not sure which Acura are you referring to ? Make sure not one of those Japan parts and assembled in Ohio U.S. ones (i.e. new TLs). Get the ES330, you won't regret ! We got a 2002 ES300 (current exterior design) and haven't had any major problems yet. a.c.
  19. Emily: What's mileage on your recently purchased 2002 ES ? The 4 years 50k miles basic warranty should cover your 3rd breaklight bulb, just take it to any Lexus dealership service dept. they should be able to replace it for FOC; or call them up first. a.c.
  20. S: You should read the topic below to answer most of your questions: Which Would You Buy? Just a few questions b4 I buy tomorrow from "nstryker"
  21. Few dealership is offering few hundred less on the ones assembled from Canada, are all RX330s really the same; doesn't matter where it's assembled from ?
  22. RX330 has two OEM equipped tires, the Good Year RS-A or Michelin S8. I got the "Made in Japan" RS-A ones, listed price is $178/each with only 260 treadware. Michelin on the other hand is "Made in USA" with 400+ in treadware for only $129/each Why such big difference ? Does any one has any compliants on the Michelin tires ?
  23. 1) My wife's Silver exterior RX330 was made in 04/03 and we purchased in 05/03, 6 months later we received a notice from Lexus on the "Exhaust Manifold converter Assemblies". Total charges for the service Campaign was $1,487.30 and i really don't notice anything different; does anyone else had the same service campaign done and notice something ? <_< 2) 09/03 (4 months after purchase date) both driver and passenger side Sun Visor covers couldn't stay open, which were stuck with the fabic behind the hinge. This SOP (special order parts) waiting time was 7-8 weeks. :( 3) 03/04 (10 months after purchase date) when mobile service tech was performing a 10k miles service the hood shock couldn't stay up and wasn't able to support the hood so they had to place another SOP (special order parts) on this; waiting time was 2 weeks. A hood shock that didn't even last over a year after manufacture date ? Can item #2 & #3 caused by southen California hot weather ? and would it to be likely to happen again ? :cries:
