when having my mechanic change my timing belt on my 95 ES300, should it be cheaper to have my rear valve cover gasket changed at same time? is there stuff that has to come off for belt anyway(intake, etc) that is part of valve cover job?
thanks alot

dont know about the stick but you should be able to add the e-shift option that the previous GS 4's had
what makes you say this is possible. I've never seen or heard of that being done.
-
the tire fits rim fine, but we don't know if he'll rub without knowing offsets.
-
that sucks, good luck.
btw-how many miles?

Rear valve cover gaskets leaking onto the exhaust. Mine's doing the same thing. Do a search on it and you'll find out more.
same here. swith the ac to recirc and you wont smell it.

could be bad alignment, bent rim or out of round tire

thanks neo.. so these rims would go on my gs300 w/ no spacers? yeah the front of my gs is kinda low but the rear has about a finger gap. the front has none. so i think i'd have to go 235/35 in front.
ok thanks alot neo ur the only one that knows :) hope anyone else can confirm this. thanks guyz
;)Although not the most aggressive offsets, they will fit the GS. -
Actually my dad is selling his to buy a Jag. I just want an opinion on a price. Is 19K to high? All it needs is new tires soon. It has a small chip in the hood and a very small paint peel on the nose where a power washer peeled back some paint. Other than that it is perfect.
it's worth $13-14k. if it's your dads and it all dealer maintened, buy it. maybe you can get a dad price :whistles:

I've tried just about every wiper blade on the market from Bosch to Valeos like they use on BMWs, and the best blades by far are Lexus. The Toyota blades are definately different.
so the "toyota" blades have a different part number? obviously every Lexus part comes in a Toyota package.

Is anyone having problems with the breaks, the breaks in my car are v v v edgy
I can't drive the car in traffic, their is no mid point the breaks are either strong or weak (late response). I have a 2004 LS430 and breaks are perfect. can anyone help .
thanks
they're just touchy because they're brake by wire. that's just how they are, you need to get used to them. I thought they were very strong. I test drove an 06 430 and I got used to the brakes after a few miles.

damn that looks pretty hard. what a gorgeous car that guy has ;-)

Chuckb:
Any fitment issues when you put the 18's on? (rubbing, caliper clearance, etc)
no, they fit fine. they are 18x8, +45mm offset. they stick out 5mm more than stock 2nd gen GS 17s. they are the same outside diameter as stock 225/55/16s with 245/40/18s. and since they are oem they are hubcentric.
-
are thos the 06 gs fact rims on your car? how much did you pay for them and where did you buy them?
yup, mine are oem GS430 18s. I bought them from Sewell Lexus, link above.

Is the bolt patten on the 2006 GS300 17in rims the same as all other lexus cars. And what about thier offset. I have the chance to buy some for a 98 ES300 and want to know if they'll fit before I purchase. Thanks

you remove the foglight and reach in with a 10mm socket to remove the whole assembly, or you can remove just the bulb sockect by twisting it and pulling out once you have the fogs out.
it's very simple, and the fogs are only 2 philips screws

Stay on the dealer to fix it and if they don't, call corporate.

chuckb,
I don't think the ecu was reset. I had the L-tuned exhaust installed at dealer where I purchased them (they threw in labor; only took 10 mins. anyway). What would resetting / not resetting ecu do? Thanks in advance.
it allows the ecu to relearn the new air flow characteristics. also, when you have been driving "normal" for a while, the computer gets lazy and becomes less responsive.
the best way to reset ecu is remove the ecu-b fuse under hood on passenger side. you have to leave it out for at least 30 minutes(sometimes longer). you'll know if it reset or not if your radio settings and seat memory are erased.

The GS has had moderate vibration/pulling issues since 1998. My guess though is that its a bent wheel/bad alignment from a pothole.
what does that have to do with the 06?
-
what'd you over here them at the dealer? I always try to browse the tickets on my service advisors desk just to see what probs are happening.
I bet they alignment is messed up or a wheel bent from nailing a pothole or curb etc..
-
did you reset your ecu to adapt?
-
wow- you really run your GS hard :D and it's not even warmed up yet :whistles:
