  1. when the battery gets low, those gauges shut down. I'd check that and maybe reset the ecu while your at it.

  3. the Tom's rear lcb and 6 link are where it's at if you want to stiffen the rear of a 2gen GS.
  4. you use toyota dextron, not type 4. here's a diy I did..... Here's what I used..a quart of Toyota Dextron and a new hobby fuel bottle. You can get a the fuel bottle from your local hobby shop or order one for about $5-$7. here's one ..... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LXD531&P=7 Otherwise, I'm sure you can find something at parts store to do the same thing. Remove the cap from power steering reservoir. Make sure the spout is clean and squeeze the fuel bottle. Gently insert spout into reservoir and release pressure on bottle so it sucks out the old fluid. I got this on first pull... This is how much that came out second time after I emptied the bottle and repeated. Here's the reservoir empty. Now refill to a few mm below the hot line with fresh Dextron and you're done. Repeat this process as many times as you want after a day or so of driving for the fluid to mix with remaining fluid. I know it's not as good as a total flush, but it will eventually get the fluid nice in there. I did this about 5 times this week(this was the last) and the fluid looked better every time and now it stays red. My car has 37k miles and this was the first time that fluid was touched.
  5. Are you saying that a gs with 113k needs new ball joints ? Why do you say that ? yup. they wear pretty fast on the gs and from what I've read, sometimes you can't tell they're shot until they are dis assembled. search ball joints under gs 2nd gen at CL, you'll see.
  6. could be ball joints. if they're original, they need to be replaced.
  7. I can't believe people still go to that style car wash.
  8. both are nice, GS is nicer. would you be getting a GS3 or GS4? that's my old ES behind my GS in the sig, LOL
  9. Calm down buddy. I'm just saying there's no magic fix in a bottle. I honestly doubt he even has sludge. That tick could be coming from anywhere. Like I said,it's under drivetrain warranty still, take it in to dealer and see what they say...
  10. ok, so I guess we don't need mechanics anymore. whenever a car is ticking or knocking, you can just dump some magic additive(crap) into the oil and everything will be fixed.
  11. I would not dump any of that crap in my motor. did the oil look clean when you bought it? an 02 gs3 w/41k miles should not be ticking. if it is, that maybe covered under the 6 year/70k mile drive train warranty.

  13. ebay has a bunch of oems. I believe they're more like $250 to $300 from the dealer. btw-I have a 06 GS430 shifter in mine...
  14. Seems like it may cause confusion, since the different gens have so many differences. Personally, I think it's a mistake.
  15. Of course they will. I am running 18" x 8" rims off a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe. what does that have to do with his question? offset is just as important as size. to answer the question, CRSO is right, they will fit fine. they will also be hubcentric, which the infinity wheels are not.
  16. my problem was the egr modulator. it was easy to change and light's gone.
  17. congrats man-$4700 is a good price. Like I said, I just sold my "95 with 93K miles for $4k. good luck with the new car.
  18. I'd go ballistic on them. make them take it back. call Lex corp and a lawyer if you have to. no way I'd be going in to a brand new black GS430 with scratches and swirled paint. sorry you had to learn hard way, but NEVER,EVER, EVER let the dealer wash or detail your car, especially if it's black. good luck.
  19. I've never done plugs on my GS yet, but from what I've seen, you just remove engine cover, unscrew the coil packs and pull them up and replace plugs. here's a DIY link.... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...ight=spark+plug
  20. I'd replace the modulator and see if that takes care of it since you've already cleaned out the egr.
  21. wow, from a flagship BMW to a Hyundai how about a GS400? you should find a nice one under $15k.
  22. I just sold my 95 ES with 93k miles for $4k. It was to my brother though and the car had a few issues.(valve cover leak, bad egr, 90k svc due) the 98 740il sounds like alot of car for $13k, but if anything breaks I'm sure it's top dollar to fix.
