  1. the guys are arnott are completely clueless. I tried to order one of their advertised air ride suspension rebuilt compressors, and they gave me a whole load of BS a week after they had told me they were building me one. comments like they are not building them , and i was gonna be the first person to buy a rebuilt compressor for the 90-94 ls400 from them was some of the bs they tried to force down my throat. \ Because of that BS and poor customer relations and bad marketing practices, i would not give them one dime or any business at all. If they are not going to come through on what they advertise, theyhad better not take your money, and leave you thinking your car is gonna be back on the road in a week. Just not good business, and then try to justify why they took your money. So pathetic, and such a bad way to do business. I even talked to the owners son, and i can tell that the apple does not fall far from the tree. I am working on a replacement air compressor of my own, and will be posting as to the functionallity of it in later posts. Basically dont buy the struts from arnott, they may not come through with whatever they advertise, ie like warranty, or whatever. later, THE SNAKE
  2. well, i think i messed up my airride compressor, trying to figure out which wire going to it was the positive wire. i reversed polarity to check , and it only liked one direction over the other. I had to see if i was right, and found out i had a good guess on my first pick. made a funny sound while going the other direction. i tore it down, it looks ok, cylinder head has some corrosion near the valve and spring on the outlet side of the cyl. head. not sure if i messed up the reed valve in the top of the compression chamber. so with all that i am scared to hook it back up to the factory harness. And no one can really fix it , except a dc motor repair shop, but i think the compressor part is what i may have messed up. Just wondering what the specifications are of the factory lexus air ride compressor, so i can see if a aftermarket airbag compressor for like a lowrider or hot rod would work. They have different ones at differnet psi's, and duty cycles. so i was wondering how to find out what the specs are on the factory compressor. i think i can get a hot rod type compressor to fit, with some modifications, and even have it sit in the factory location in front of the right front wheel area. Well, any advice, please drop a reply. later THE SNAKE :o
  3. looks like i did not check this reply from you on time, regarding the ebay link. It has already sold. I may buy the new ones from Toyoto or Lexus, but now i am wondering if my problem is more than just air ride struts. Now the entire left side is the side of the car that is not staying aired up, and the right side is staying aired up. WTF. I would like to think i have a control problem more than a airbag going bad. Sometimes the airpump wont even come on. Has anyone ever tried to build these shocks. Or can you spray some marvel mystery oil in the lines to help seal out if thats the part that is going out inside the blasted bags. Is there a computer or something i can reset or some way to overide the pump so i can at least pump up the car manually. sometimes the pump runs and sometimes it does not. If there is some kind of A-Team short cut or Plan to get by with this until i can throw out some dough , that would be cool. Until then Later THE SNAKE
  4. My LS 400 lowers too. but i think your numbers are off. Well to be funny, my ls400 kicks in its "Flex Capacitor" "at exactly 88 MPH"( Like on Back To The Future) and drops down low. Or i have seen it vary slightly in speed but be consistent in Engine RPM near 3000 RPM at or close to "88 MPH" LOL.... Just some humor from the Old SNAKE about these cool cars . Peace out THE SNAKE
  5. now the front is just like the rear, except they wont usually pump up at all sometimes. I saw the post for the reman air ride shocks from arnott inc. , but those are rear only. I hope they come up with front ones, cause those are the ones that carry the most weight, i would think. just my opinion. thanks for all the help from this site. Im trying to find some. new used or rebuilt, as long as they work. this money pit is taking money away from me flying choppers. buts still an awesome car. Peace out for now. THE SNAKE B)
  6. THanks for all the help. The Snake has fixed the Reverse indicator, it was the broken wire on the left hinge in the trunk. And i also figured out the lower left side brake light, 1157 had a element that looked connected , but had some kind of corrosion or some sh@!@%t growing inside the bulb where the filament attaches to the filament wire stand. So i replaced that bulb, and the warning light on the dash went out for good.
  7. I will try these suggestions about the left hinge area. I am hoping you guys are refering to the reverse shift indicator inbetween the tach and speedo having something to do with the wiring in the left hinge area of the trunk? About the transmission jerk i feel, i just think this is way to excessive when it disconnects from the engine. The fact that i notice it is enough for me to write about it. My moms 98 ES300 does not have a transmission like jerk when i apply the brakes on it, why does mine? Thanks for the replys, ill keep checking back for more suggestions or ideas. later, THE SNAKE
  8. This is SNAKE again. My 1992 LS400 is having a Reverse indicator light illuminate everytime the brake pedal is depressed. Why is this? Is this related to the brake light sensor , cause its lit up too. I have checked all those bulbs, and going to try what some of the other posts have suggested on the brake light issue. I also have cleared the airbag light, thanks to the guy with the hands on site. The transmission seems to disconnect from the engine so to speak when the brake is applied, almost a jerk is felt, WTF, is this normal? This LS has about 170000 miles on it. Any help is greatly appreciated. This has been doing this since i bought it with 135000 miles on it. Thanks for any input, The "Snake" magnumpi300@yahoo.com
  9. Just want to know if my ac will work on my 1992 LS400 even if the display has leaked out all the LCD stuff? mine has leaked out, probably why the radio does not pick up good stations. I just want to know if i go get my ac charged if the air will at least work with out being able to tell what the display is indicating on the AC system. Or is the Display a reason why my ac is not working. I will waste the money on a mechanic to charge it up if i know i can at least get by with out the display working. I dont have the $$ to fix this display, i just want to be cool. I fly a hot !Removed! chopper all day , i don't need to be hot in this ride.. later, thanks for the help, THE SNAKE magnumpi300@yahoo.com
  10. sometimes my 92 LS 400 is sitting on the ground from the rear shocks leaking down air. WTF!!! it looks like a hoomptie or lowrider, kinda funny looking. I dont care really, but is it a shock problem or a valve or hose issue that is a routine problem. just curious. thanks The SNAKE magnumpi300@yahoo.com
  11. I have a 92 LS400 with the same problem, both lights come on and off all the time or not at all. Also my reverse indicator on the cluster lights up every time i tap the brake pedal. WTF.!!!! I am a mechanic with Z32 Z31 S130 S30 nissan types but this car is way too techie for me. I need some guidance on this, but im broke from owning about 4 cars now. This LS is great aside from these peace of mind problems. Also my air bag light is on, and my brake light bulb warning light is on too. And it has the tach needle blink, expected, WTF. What should i do? contact me here or magnumpi300@yahoo.com THanks "THE SNAKE"
