  1. I had a similar issue with both a 2019 and 2021 LX570's. It is as if the engine has to "catch up" before beginning accelerate. Particularly annoying turning into driveway and then accelerating to reach the house. Multiple sessions with Lexus service with no success. "It is the way the transmission is designed." I posted on this issue a few times years ago hoping Lexus would notice. Well, apparently they did, for I have taken delivery of a 2022 LX600, and the engine is smooth as one would expect from Lexus.
  2. Has anyone experienced or learned of any delays in deliveries of 2013 LS 460's, or, perhaps taking longer than the usual 4-6 weeks after placing an order to get delivery? I have had a '13 on special order for four months from a fairly large dealership, and I am advised that the pipeline from Japan is slow. ????? I have traded with this particular dealer before and have been satisfied. This length of delay just seems a bit bizarre.
  3. Interesting speculation on the new generation LS relative to design as well as schedule on this posting (courtesy of Lexus Enthusiast site) My link
  4. Great video of 2010 models at Lexus' Japan site: www.lexus.jp It is sufficiently bilingual to navigate the site easily. Don't know why Lexus USA can't get their site updated. Perhaps the delay is to stoke interest...........but with LS sales down by 50% from a year ago (source: Lexus Enthusiast posting), one would think they would be eager to market. ??
  5. Looks like a later post on the new 2010 style to be unveiled in Frankfurt this week??? http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/09/lexus...2010-ls460.html
  6. I have the same car as you.......'04/430/Moonlight Pearl, and I had a very definite, very annoying problem with the transmission lag/hesitation/whatever you wish to call it.... Notwithstanding several posts on this site that "it's just a Lexus.......I needed to adapt my driving...etc etc.", I kept bugging the dealership for a fix.......... Finally, the 'fix' arrived that you identified, and I have had no problem since it was installed over a year ago. Interestingly, they now admit there WAS a problem which needed a fix.
  7. The discussion thread on leasing vs buying was/is informative. I'm still a 'babe in the woods' however on trying to analyze whether to seriously consider leasing. I have always purchased. I am on the list for a 460 this fall, and my sales rep says leasing is the only way to go for me....??? A friend just leased a 750Li at a sweet deal, and he swears it is the only way to go. I cannot deduct any costs for business; I drive 12-15K per year; and my cars are immaculate at the end of two years. I have a 2004 LS 430 with 25K which I will either trade this fall or sell and lease............. Keep discussing, as I need to know more. Frankly, I don't know who to believe!!!
  8. The TSB number on my service record says "Reburn ECM PER TSIB TC006-04" I have no idea of the accuracy of these numbers nor what they mean......only what is reflected on my service record. I returned to the dealer for the Navigation "fix" on 12/28/04. When setting up the appointment, I asked the service rep to check for a new "fix" for the transmission. His reply was "we know of no fix available". I referred him to postings on this website. Miraculously, when I arrived the appointment a week later, the technician said "we also have a fix for your transmission." Interesting. ;) Results: I have been pleased to date. I have been one of the chronic complainers of this electronic throttle malady, and I don't wish to get prematurely enthusiastic about the fix. So far, however, I have noted a vast improvement in the smoothness at lower speeds, and I have tried to put the vehicle in circumstances which caused the jerkiness. The "reburn ECM" language on the service record reminded me of what was attempted six or seven months ago..........after driving my vehicle, the technician said he would "reset" the computer........whatever that meant. I only hope that a "reburn" is not the same as a "resetting". We'll see. Maybe Lexus DOES indeed listen to owners and read these postings.
  9. Please post a response to your visit to the dealership, as I, like you, will be one happy camper if Lexus provides a fix to this problem which has bugged me for 12 months.
  10. Does anyone have definitive information on the $200 voucher some owners have received following the transmission "fix"...........is it a dealer option, or is this a Lexus Corporate action which will eventually find its way to all 430 owners who return the vehicles for the recall work? I was in for repair a couple of weeks ago.........no noticeable difference in performance......including the ever present "lag"!!!
  11. I have been closely following this topic since it was introduced, and particularly "Stevieman"'s[sW03ES] responses which have been helpful. Per suggestions in this forum, in the last several days, I have tried to force myself to get accustomed to this damnable lag when accelerating at slow speed. Each attempt, I keep asking myself why I have to do this with a $65K vehicle! Yes, I know......poor attitude on my part! I agree with the assessment that it is indeed a safety issue.......can you trust the automobile to rapidly accelerate from a slow speed when suddenly in a crisis. Having driven MB's, Range Rovers, and an assortment of other foreign vehicles, I simply cannot accept that I am a dunderhead driver who cannot adjust to Japanese engineering. I can only hope that Lexus USA is monitoring this forum and will sincerely attempt to rectify an increasingly annoying problem. I can only hope that the responses to this forum continue ad infinitum until a satisfactory resolution is forthcoming from Lexus engineering.
  12. I sympathize with your frustration re: transmission lag. I own a 2004 LS430, and it drives me nuts! I see the replies from others advising that it is "normal" with the throttle configuration..........I really have a hard time swallowing that with a $65K vehicle. I have 8K miles on the vehicle, and Lexus dealer hasn't been able to make any improvements to the "lag" problem. Prior to this vehicle, I owned a 2002 LS430, and I do not recall a similar problem with the 2002 version. I look forward to other response to the issue.
  13. I traded a 2002 LS430 for a 2004 version in December. I have an annoying problem when accelerating from a reduced speed like going through an unmarked intersection, entering main highway from driveway, etc. When pressing the accelerator to increase speed, there is a short period of what I call "loose motion" as if the transmission is not totally engaged for a second or two. The tachometer even briefly bumps up reflecting an attempt to get totally engaged. Result is a slight jerk......on a $65K automobile. Bizarre! ....and quite annoying. Did not have the problem on the 2002. Took it to the service dept......technician agreed there is a problem....BUT NO FIX at this point............ any suggestions? any similar problems? I have also contacted Lexus corporate to advise them of annoyance.
