  1. That's what I am thinking as they fixed this in the 08s.
  2. Yea it does matter. It's slower, worse fuel economy than the 350. So why get a slower car (even though it's a V8)? Give me a break. $42000 for that? I would say helll nooo!! but thats just me...... if you really want a GS series get a GS430 or above.....sometimes you just need that V8 power!! cant go wrong with those..... Well, thanks for your opinion. I would never buy it for $42K either and we didn't. We got it for far less and think it was a good deal. Why get the V8 which has less power and worse fuel economy? It doesnt matter, its still a V8!!!
  3. So what kind of nutjob car company would name a car, "Murano" ?!? Murano ... er, that's spanish for dirty, stupid, filthy pig. At least it's a name instead of just some letters and numbers that mean nothing. Oh and there is no spanish meaning for Murano. I think you just made that up. Answer There is no translation for murano from Spanish to English. What language is this? *ChaCha*
  4. Actually my 07 NISMO 350z has passed MANY Porches easily on the track. And I had street tires while they had slicks. Don't under estimate the Z.
  5. why when the GS350 out performs the GS430? IMHO for the price, you can get a 07 in the low 30s even some in the mid to high 20s. $42000 for that? I would say helll nooo!! but thats just me...... if you really want a GS series get a GS430 or above.....sometimes you just need that V8 power!! cant go wrong with those.....
  6. There is one here at CarMax (not CPO though) for $37,998 loaded with everything with only 24k miles. So I am hoping 34-35k by January might be possible! When we are talking about whether people are comparing the Murano to the RX and if you insist they are, then why are so many more peoplen choosing the RXs? Of course, you can't always equate sales to quality, but many sales trends do point to this as being the case. The Honda Civic, Toyota Prius, etc all show very high sales figures, and for good reason. Many are choosing the RX because they want a Luxury Crossover. And you get all the loaner cars, more warranty, and stuff that comes with a Luxury car. Nissan, Toyota, and so on you do not. Plus the RX is the cheapest of the batch if you compare the other Luxury crossovers, so yes you will get more people buying them. That is what I was trying to get at. many people will see the price tag between the two and say I can get a Lexus!!!!! many people do the same between a g35 and a (new) maxima Same here. I looked at the Maxima, and a full loaded one was like $40k. I was like forget that. I can get a Lexus! Reason why we are looking at a new ES350 and a slightly used GS350 for me. what year GS350 are you looking for? You could get a G37 brand new with awd for the same price as a used GS350. If you haven't test driven a G37, do it before you make your decision
  7. Well the 07 GS350's can be had around 28-32k with 40k mile range. The G37 is in the 36k+ new range. And IMHO, I am done with Nissan/Infiniti's. I had two G35s back in 04/05. I really want to switch to a different car manufacture and be happy! :) So that is the year I am looking at. I would love to have a GS450h if I can find one for under 34k CPO. Never know when January comes around when I am ready to make the switch, there might be some. 10. And let me tell you. We like the Murano, but we don't love it. Reason why we are going to sell it in January probably or around there with my Z and pick up two Lexus cars. I am looking to get a GS350 most likely, and she is probably getting a ES350. The Murano is a great car, it has been reliable, but the service is terrible from Nissan. And IMHO, we are tired of Nissan's. I know the ES350 is the same drivetrain as the Camry we had, but to what I have read, the issues were resolved in the later years with both cars. So we aren't afraid to look again. All cars have problems including Lexus. But sadly, Nissan doesn't make any car that appeals to me anymore other than the Murano or Maxima. I am sorry that me suggesting the Murano to the person as it comes nicely loaded and rides just like the RX and the size is the same, this really hurt a feel peoples passion towards the RX. So accept my apology as I was not expecting this to happen.
  11. Good to see that. But from the posts I got from you, it didn't look that way. Look at it from my point of view. Brand loyal blinded..? Let's see what I've owned..in order I might add... 1980 Honda Civic 1989 Honda Accord 1990 Honda Accord 1992 Honda Accord 1993 Nissan Pathfinder 1994 Nissan Sentra 1995 Honda Civic 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan 1988 Nissan Maxima 1992 Nissan Maxima 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle 2006 Honda Odyssey 2001 Subaru Outback H6 2006 Lexus RX400h I certainly don't see much brand loyalty to Lexus on my part. If anything I'd say I was more of a Honda/Nissan guy. I will admit, I really liked my '92 Maxima - 4DSC for those in the know. And, for what it's worth, I actually like the new Murano (and the old one (2006 up)).
  12. Apology accepted. I usually don't take things personal over the net as it is hard to read into what people type. So no big deal. :) He did not bring up the subject of Nissan, he responded to the statement made by RX400h. It only makes sense he would reference the Murano...based on its similarity to the RX and his personal experience with it. And the only reason to make a comment that he should find another forum to post on is that he would somehow be unwelcome to post his viewpoints here...which is not the case...trust me. Your original post - "He wasn't the one who brought up the Murano, he was responding to a statement made by RX400h" I encourage you to actually read through this thread from the beginning and you'll see that, as I already stated, the first mention anywhere in this post about a Murano was from him. So again, you stated "He wasn't the one who brought up the Murano, he was responding to a statement made by RX400h" and I'm correctly pointing out that he WAS the one who brought up the Murano. The only posts by RX400h PRIOR to the mention of the Nissan Murano by Krazylexus were #7 and #29. #7 was a post about the crappy nav system and #29 was a post about closing the thread. So which of those posts by RX400h post would cause the Murano to be mentioned FOR THE FIRST TIME in this thread? Anyway, I'm done with this. Krazylexus, if I've offended you, I apologize.
  13. Actually many people who look at the RX look at the Murano, Highlander, RX, FX, you name it. I wish people were not so brand loyal blinded. Because you and a few others really show it.
  14. My Nissan is forsale. And I have been searching for a GS. Also possibly a ES to replace the Murano. We have had a RX300 in the past from Lexus. So I am not a Nissan fan, I just like all cars. Either way, this is a car forum here to talk about cars. Forums compare vehicles all the time. The owner obviously isn't happy with his RX so I recommended him look at the Murano as we have one and we had a older RX.
  15. Hmm, it's a car forum. They all discuss, compare vehicles, it's what forums do. All I can say, if you don't like it, you know where the door is.
  16. The RXh is also $20-25,000 more than a fully loaded Murano. Hardly a fair comparison. The new Murano is really nice, and I would buy one over an 04-09 RX (gas or hybrid) anyday. The 2010 is a different story...but with the price difference I'd still lean heavily towards the Murano. I guess it's OK until you start finding transmission parts, random nuts and bolts in your driveway....if the Murano is anything like the other Nissans.... Hmm, most of my family has owned Nissan/Infiniti's for years, and we never had one fail on us. Then we decided to try the newer 07+ Camry's, within 1500 miles of both of them, the transmissions blew. Both were bought back from Toyota. I am willing to give Toyota another chance on the Lexus side as I hope they have this resolved. But from that, the Murano, we have had 0 problems with it, my 07 350Z has had 0 problems as well. This is actually our 2nd Murano 09 model, as the first one wasn't fully loaded and we decided to get one loaded later.
  17. I agree. Here is a link to the Murano with some good pictures. http://www.autoincar.com/2009-nissan-muran...ctures-gallery/
  18. We had both a Maxima and fully-optioned Quest before buying our RX400h and to us, while the Nissan's were well-built to some extent (I say this because there were some problems with each.), they really were not in the same class as the Lexus. Perhaps the Infiniti SUVs are there when performance characteristics are compared, but as far as amenities, reliability, fuel economy and dealer service are concerned, there is just no comparison. I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure, as they say. (This is not to say that Nissan's are trash!) It is obvious you haven't checked out the new Murano as the interior really blows any other car that Nissan makes away. It is like a Infiniti but with a Nissan badge. Like I said, check one out before making comments when you haven't even seen one. We also get over 23 city and we have hit 28 highway in our Murano. Your right, it doesn't compare since the Murano performs better.
  19. Sorry to see you didn't like the RX. We had one as well, and didn't like it. We got a 09 Nissan Murano and love the vehicle vs the Lexus. Even though the Lexus had great service and you were buying a Lexus, the Murano was just better designed, quiet, better NAVI, stereo, etc. My suggestion would be to check one out if you haven't.
  20. I would say the risk is high. It is already way past the time of the belt replacement. 600 miles is a good stretch for any car. I would ask him to take it to get it replaced with the water pump before you drive it away. IMHO it should have been done. I would say the risk is low. Its a Lexus and built like a tank. If the previous owner was the original and the car has a history of being well-maintained, you'll be fine. A belt is a belt. That has nothing to do with how well built a Lexus is. If that belt gets hot and is already cracking, it will and could stretch and break while he is on the road. Saying the risk is low is just plain dumb. If it was really well maintained, the belt would have been replaced IMHO.

  22. Do you notice the new one turns much easier and sharper than your RX300? We had a RX300 and that was a big complaint we had on it. It made it hard to park in tight areas.
  23. Look at the picture below I posted. To the right of the Lexus between both the volume and tuning knobs you will see Mark Levinson. That is where it would be.
