jason0865
My 93 GS300 has check Engine light on for the 2nd time in 3 months after the Front Right O2 sensor (closes to headlight) was replaced. Please help me: 1. Code 28. Which is the "Main Heated O2 Sensor Circuit" error code. Is this the one that is located after the catalytic converter? I was told by the shop (not dealer) that the rear one is faulty. Could it be a simple sensor defect or other intake issues? 2. For you gentlemen who are able to read the error codes, do you actually have the code reader/scanner? 3. If I don't replace the O2 sensor soon, will it bring me a bigger problem? A car shop quoted me $275 to get it done. But the dealer told me the sub sensor is even easier to replace than the front ones. 4. Will disconnecting the batter make the Check Engine light go away? Please help! Thank you all so much. jason0865@yahoo.com
SKperformance
I thought the heated one was before the cat I have a scanner but it is obd 2 not one like your cars If you run too rich too long you can burn up your cats and get horrible fuel economy the light will go waway with no power but it fixes nothing you might as well put a peice of black tape over the dash light, so you don;t see it
jason0865
Thanks SKP!! U are right...I do have a "obd 1" on my 93....:"( BTW, are those scanners expensive? Well...I guess that means I have to pay for the job rather than getting the part and do it myself? The sub O2 sensor, is it difficult to replace? Thanks once again. TurboGS300
Each of the sensors are about $120! Repace them yourself they're not hard, unless they're really siezed in there! Disconecting the battery will reset the light , once you fix the problem!
