gav_logan
FINALLY got my car serviced today, and on returning home, I thought I'd have a bit of a look... and a listen. I opened up the bonnet to hear a kind of ticking sound (which is louder than the hum of the engine). 6 or so ticks per second. I'm not too sure if I've heard this before, is it normal? I'm not all that knowledgeable about what I'm looking at under the bonnet, but if facing the car, looking at the plastic cover (that you remove to change the plugs) the sound seems to be coming from the bottom left corner. Any ideas? Also, when entering my driveway, the front suspension has a kind of creaking sound. I just got a full service/lube and check. The guy reported a minor problem with the back suspension, but not the front. Can anyone think of an explanation for this? es3doubleO
I think you ticking sound may be you valves, they maybe out of adjustment. When you rev up you engine see if the ticking sound gets faster or not.
gav_logan
Yep, it does. Although, it seems to be quieter now... Is this bad?
