moroejr Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I have taken my 2018 RX450HL into Lexus three times to fix the issue of the fuel door not locking in the open position when I pull it open,it will just flop back. Is anyone else experiencing this?
1990LS400 Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 We've had a variety of Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles over the past 30 years and none of them have had a fuel filler door that "locked" in the open position. None of the fuel doors on the Mercedes, Honda and Volvo vehicles we've owned locked in the open position either.
Les Lex 2018 Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Checked my 16 RX. The door has some form of spring action holding it open. If it will not stay open, the spring (regardless of what it is) is sprung or broken.
moroejr Posted June 27, 2019 Author Posted June 27, 2019 Thanks, is the spring located inside the panel?
Les Lex 2018 Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 It (what ever they use to create tension) isn’t visible from the outside. Probably accessible when they pop off the rear left inside panel. Door is attached to an arm that is connected to something not visible from the outside.
