dpc Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 If there was significant snow on my ’09 RX, the rear hatch when opened would get to the ¾ open position and then close itself automatically. Lately, it does the same thing when it’s simply raining. The hatch operates fine on a dry day. This only happens when using the “power” feature of the hatch, not when opening it manually. Is this simply a matter of worn hatch struts or is there a sensitivity setting for the hatch that can be adjusted ?
jonathan limo Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Hello DPC, Were you able to remedy the rear hatch problem that you're having? jonathan
RX400h Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I have seen a few answers to this same question and everyone is the same - The struts need to be replaced. Apparently, once the door gets past the midpoint of travel, the struts take over and finish opening the hatch door.
