RCRFAN3
How bad is it to do a fuel filter on a 98 LS 400?
99lsguy
This is one that I let a shop do... I don't think its hard, but just messy and a lift is very helpful.... My 99 had 60K on the dot when it was changed. I ask the mechanic about it and he said it was just the right time. Normal dirt and such, nothing overly exciting, but just FYI. It's located right above the Diffy Case by the fuel tank - pretty much in the middle. I wish I would have watched the guy a little more - didn't pay much attention. It's just that fuel keeps dripping all over and I didn't want it smelling up my garage (or me). If I were laying down under the car and looking up, I can't imagine any way I'd avoid the gas from spilling all over me (hands, face, eyes, etc....) You may need new O-rings too???! Here's the diagram of what to look for - on page 2. 99 comp.pdf
