exdotcomer Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Anyone know of a Mystery filter in a 1998 es that is in the glove box, above the cd changer>?
Senna4ever Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Cabin air filter? Just my guess...mine is a 97...don't have it.
steviej Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 post a pic if possible. Pre-02 ES's didn't have the cabin filter in or behind the glove box. They are down under the dash board to the above right of the gas pedal. It may just be a heat vent for the CD player. steviej
steviej Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 my point was that the filter for the 92-01 ES is NOT in the glove box as asked in your original question. yes-they do have a cabin filter yes-there are several brands out there yes-they can be purchased from non-Lexus dealers on the web. maybe we are just on the wrong communication lines. steviej
mburnickas Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Same as this link http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=cabin+filter and copied below I just went out to check mine, and my 1998 does NOT have a filter. It take around 5 minutes to open the conpartment and look. I did clean the conpartment wilth a 2-hp shop vac with a 5/8" OD hose duck taped over the hoses end. This would boost the suction and also able me to vac the inside. Nice and clean and I will order a filter. http://home.comcast.net/~94gsxr1100/es_filter.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~94gsxr1100/es_filter2.jpg I got these somewhere about 2 years ago.
