SW03ES Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I saw this pic of the SD wheels in normal silver unlike the greenish/grey hue they come on the ES, MUCH better...
steviej Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 very nice, but too many crevices and angles for me to clean. :whistles: oh yeah, I meant my detailer to clean. steviej
SW03ES Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 Good point, the standard ES wheels are very easy to clean...
jeffnpigs Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Has anyone switched to a set of 17" wheels with all weather tires? What was the effect on handling and ride? I'm still trying to figure out a way to get better handling, because my commute route was changed to go through the Washington "Mixing Bowl" where the beltway meets 95 in VA. I tried increasing tire pressure. It helps a bit but not enough. I go counter traffic and the folks really zoom through some tricky curves and merges. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
squarehat Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 Jeff. Last summer (May through November), I ran 215/50-17 size Sumitomo HTR+ all seasons. The ride wasn't much harsher, but handling improved dramatically over the stock 15's. Unfortunately, they're stacked in the corner of my garage, as two of the rims (were on the passenger side) bent from a hitting a submerged pothole near the curb on a dark, rainy night. I'm holding out until I can lay out the money for 4 new rims of higher quality.
