harry42ka1 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Hello All, I was just driving my RX350 at about a speed of 40KM when the VSC Off and Check Engine Light has turned ON. Can someone guide me how to get rid of this? How much expense is involved?
RX400h Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 You have the fault code "pulled" with a code reader. Once you know the code number, you can search for that number paired with your make and model of vehicle. The code description will tell you where the problem lies.
harry42ka1 Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Thanks. Is it okay to drive for few days. There is a recall on 2009 RX350. May be it is because of that.
RX400h Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 As long as there are no drivability issues, chances are that it is okay, but I wouldn't wait too long.
VBdenny Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 My neighbor has an earlier RX300. Both of those lights have been on in that car for over a decade. Nothing bad has happened.
harry42ka1 Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Hi there, Thanks for the response. I called Lexus Canada. The car has recall for Oil Cooler Pipe. It seems to be the offshoot of this Oil Cooler Pipe. Will know more when I go to dealer on Thursday. Till then I am keeping fingers crossed.
harry42ka1 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 i went to dealer for recall. after fixing the recall. the diagnostics as per them is: Oxygen sensor 399 + one ignition coil 324.11 Total 723.11 + 13% tax But they say still no guarantee the check engine light and vsc off signal will not come back. per them, the tune up is due in another 11k kms, so it better to get tuneup 480.00 + all coils 944.66= 1434.66+ Oxygen sensor 399. In total spend about $2000 today. the amount seems to be atrocious to me. I am in toronto, about an hour drive from buffalo. can someone suggest me if it will make sense to go to Buffalo to get it fixed. Need help please
RX400h Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 How many miles are on your odometer? You might want to check with a Toyota dealership.
harry42ka1 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 it will say about 115k miles. do you think the toyota dealership will repair Lexus and they will be cheaper than Lexus.
