I would like to know what is the maximum usb drive used in a 2015 system with nav. Does the drive needed to be formatted as Fat 32 or will exFat work?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that format and folder requirements and limitations are documented in your owners manual. You can search the owners manual for your vehicle in the Owners section of www.lexus.com for a term like "USB" - often easier than consulting a paper copy.

Thanks, but that was no help. Almost as bad as contacting the dealer. Who do you contact for expert advice on these hi tech cars?

The formats for USB are stated beginning on page 258 of the 2015 GS navigation manual: http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/omnav-s/OM30E39U/pdf/OM30E39U.pdf

exFAT is not listed as being acceptable but FAT16 and FAT32 is. Using USB in vehicles made by Toyota and other car makers assumes that the user has basic computer/technical knowledge. If you don't understand formats, folder structures and file types, I suggest that you find some non-automotive personal computing websites and do some reading.

Too bad they don't use Apple systems in their cars. That way people wouldn't have to understand folders and fat things.
