One mechanic told me that the belt is half worned and needs to be replaced. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. Vehicle Model: LS 400 '93 Also, it has about 95 K miles on it. Is it recommendable to do tune up and timing belt change. Is it possible to do tune by myself instead of paying $260.00 for just changing the spark plugs..? 99lsguy Posted April 12, 2004 Share Posted April 12, 2004 The Serpentine Belt..... The one you see in front of the engine. runs off the driveshaft and keeps the PS, AC, Alt, etc running. 99lsguy Posted April 12, 2004 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Found a diagram for it..... You loosen the tensioner by turning it Counter Clockwise....this will relieve the belt tension and slip it off.
