Couldn't agree more..we drove all of the competition (BMW, audi, etc..) and nothing compared to the build quality, looks, steering and overall appeal

Thank you very much, she sure is! We traded her rr evoque in for it, we love it. Yes, the look of the car is just amazing, I had them include the 18" mesh wheels in black chrome, after some haggling we got them at no charge and it really sets off the stance of the car.

Lexrrss - Wow that's quite a trade (the RR Evoque). What did you not like about the RR?

Note: I also like a black mesh wheel on sport luxury sedans. My IS350 has MRR GT1's in black w/polished lips.

It was a great car and never had a problem, however having two suv's we just wanted a sports sedan in the house.

I love my dark rims too. I plasti-dipped my badges anthracite color to match. I think it gives my car a much more aggressive look.

Lexrrss - By now you might have put a couple thousand miles on the '14 IS250. Are you enjoying it? Anything to report?

The car has been perfect.. if anything, it has gotten better. The engines performance has definitely increased after being broken in, and with the added K&N filter, it runs very strong. The steering/handling I still can't get over though, it is phenomenal. Plus my wife gets a random thumbs up on the look of the car all the time, we love it!

Just got back from a quick 1200 mile road trip in mine. I seem to ruin the fuel economy by flooring off the line. Sounds good when I do that and I'll bet Sunoco is a fan. Ran some 91 without ethanol (100% gasoline) in the 250 and it liked it just fine. Seems many gas stations in upstate New York now sell fuel with alcohol. My line of thinking is that alcohol belongs in people and nowhere near cars.

Wow, 1200 mile road trip. What was your gas mleage/mpg?

On this trip which was almost entirely interstates, says I got 26.3 mpg. Guess I should add that flooring off traffic lights on the Eastern Shore probably really cuts my consumption. IF I babied this car I think I could get maybe 28-29. Of course that won't happen. Use mine as a benchmark for the worst you can expect.

Yes, IS250 and IS350 get about the same mileage. In steady cruising I get about 27 with 07 IS350 (6 speed auto) at 70-80mph, no flooring at traffic lights.

My guess is next year, the IS250 will get a turbo 4 banger similar to new NX engine. Main goal is better fuel economy.

These cars are heavier than I initially thought. I really never considered the fuel mileage when I bought this. Anything over 25 is a plus to me. On this entire trip I did not see one other new style IS however I did see a million BMW's.

Good point about the weight of these IS's both this gen and last, typically over 3500 pounds, and similar to competitors in this class of compact rwd sport sedans. Modern and safe cars today are usually heavy.

Anytime you can do a 500+ run and not hit traffic! it IS fun. Besides, if you can't have fun in a Lexus, then you might need a refresher course in fun. I think my car fully loaded comes in around 3900 lbs. of course when I returned the first thing I did was wash and clean it all up. I try never to let dead bugs linger on my front bumper.

Take that bad boy on a trip down I40 through the Smokies if you really want a fun drive. So awesome.

My car is heavy too. All that gear that folds up the top and lowers and raises it is probably the issue. Heck....just think how much of that weight is airbags and the mechanics that controls them.

I'll probably start with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Only problem is doing all that twisty road stuff is you do tend to wear out your tires quickly. I looked at the replacement costs for future reference and backed off a little. Well unless adrenaline comes onto play.

I couldn't get up a good head of steam, too much traffic and misting rain. :-( The good thing about that area is that it is illegal for an 18 wheeler to be in the left lane so it flows pretty smoothly. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Hills, turns, tunnels, white water rapids.....natures beauty at its best.
