landar Posted May 2, 2014 Share Posted May 2, 2014 I have never done such a swap but no, they are not the same engine. The 98 is much more sophisticated, electronics-wise and valve timing-wise. About the only thing that *might* swap out is the short block but even there, I would doubt it. What did you 'blow' up in your engine?
