Today morning, I took my three-week-old car, a white 2014 IS250, for a car wash. (By the way, this car is totally worthy to buy.) I was happy about it. After the car wash was done, I got into my car and went straight back to home without checking. After I parked, I looked around my car to see how clean it was, but then I saw on the left side of my car there are two small scratches. I kinda freaked out, so I called my salesman, Corbin, and sent him the picture of the scratches. I did not really think too much about how it scratched at first because it could be me. I just wanted the scratches to be fixed. So I asked Corbin what I should do and where I can go to get it repaint or something. He kindly replied. I was cool with it and thanked him for the suggestion, but then something stroke me because I am really careful with my car. When I park my car, I always avoid to park next to big cars so people don't scratch my car when they open the door. But the scratches are at really weird position, where they couldn't be the scratches from neither opening the door nor running into something, because they are small at the really awkward place. Then I googled if it is possible that during a car wash the dealership might scratch it. Then as it turned out, it could be. I know I could not blame no one because I should have checked before I left with my car. Then I emailed the dealership, because it's a Saturday. I have to wait to see how it turns out.

SO TOP TIPS

1. Always check your car before you leave from dealership

2. Wash your precious car by yourself!

3. if you're considering to buy a new 2014 lexus IS 250, it is totally worth your money. The engine makes brilliant sound. I know there are lots of reviews out there saying "oh engine lacks of power" on IS 250, but trust me. It has enough power for you to go wild.

Nobody washes my baby but me.

How deep are the scratches? Can you feel it with your fingernail? Do you think you could get them out with a scratch remover? NuFinish makes a great one.

Sadly I'm disappointed that Lexus dealerships around here still have mechanized car washes. They have not scratched my car so far, but they do a mediocre job of cleaning it.

Even the non-premium car dealerships that I've used (Ford and Mazda dealerships) dumped mechanized car washes and only do hand washes of cars in for service. The Ford service manager mentioned customer complaints as one the main reasons for going to 100% hand wash a few years ago. When I take my Mazda CX-5 in for service it gets hand-washed and comes back much cleaner than my Lexus IS done by machine wash by Lexus dealership.

btw - Tomlu - Congrats on the new 2014 IS250, looking forward to seeing a picture when you get a chance.
