higherground Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Right hand side mirror swings to the front and stops. I can return it to the proper position, but upon restart it swings out completely to the front of the car. Fix??
pj8708 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Welcome to the Club. Fix is probably a new motor or controler. May be able to get the needed part on ebay or online salvage yard. Paul
billydpowell Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I dont completely follow you, take a photo of it, "completely to the front of the car.". and I will rack my brain to see if we can help.. I have 2 99's, but I cant "see" that..
landar Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 So can you put the switch in the completely stowed (all the way back position) then physically move the mirror to the back position and retry?

However it is a nagging problem. Any help would be appreciated. You are communicating with a brother ><>. Jim (hope the pic came thru)

JimDSC_5489.JPG (hope the pic came thru) Wow, you shot me down with that one, pm landar, he has a 430 and should be able to give you some guidance.. sorry..
steve2006 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Apparently there is a known problem with the LS430 mirrors in that the limit switches fail ( these stop the motor when the mirror is either in the fully out position/driving position or when it is folded in). These are not available as a spare part, the whole mirror needs replacing. If you don't need to fold your mirrors disconnecting the motor drive wire would be the cheapest option.
higherground Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 thanks steve, disconnecting the wire seems like my best solution,,,, thanks
