Kabinski
Considering a purchase of either a 2010-11 LS460 and live in Michigan. How important is AWD? I want an L model but not sure about AWD. HELP!
NoNoise
My 2012 LS460L AWD has 35,000 miles on it and has gone through 2 Illinois winters. It has great traction in the snow. I still have a 2004 ES330 with 160,000 miles purchased new with front wheel drive. The 460 has much better deep snow performance than the 330. The 460 has a switch to increase the height of the body which also helps in deep snow. A 4 wheel drive truck will do better in deep snow, but I am not a "truck guy". PH1958
I presently drive a 2010 LS460L AWD. Prior to the LS460, I drove an 2006 Mercedes S430 4Matic. The AWD provides me with a vastly higher level of peace of mind in commuting (35 miles in each direction). Prior to these AWD vehicles, I drove for ten years a 1997 Mercedes S320 RWD. What a difference! I would strongly urge you to consider the AWD vehicle.
