lambodog
I was recently given a price of $1600+ to repair worn u-joint in RX 300 2003 with 169k miles. First, is that realistic? Second, a good investment? Third, can't it be done for less? The parts appear to be a WHOLE lot cheaper than that! Thank you.,
lenore
Is this the universals in AWD vehicle with drive shaft going to rear wheels....? If so look in phone book and look for drive line repair shop. Call them and get an estimate...They are usually a lot cheaper and can make sure it is balanced. If you are talking the two half shafts on the front wheels, they only cost around $100 or less per shaft aftermarket (Cardone brand) and get your favorite mechanic to replace them. I would never rebuild them...easier to just replace at that cost.
